Mann Announces Punjab-wide Strikes Against New Goods Tax

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) Simranjit Singh Mann has announced to stage sit-in-strikes against the imposition of GST (Goods & Services Tax) in India. The District heads of SAD (Amritsar) will stage sit-in-strikes outside the District headquarters on June 30.

Speaking to Sikh24, Mann said that the imposition of GST will sledgehammer trade in India as the government has fixed extremely high rates for some day-to-day items. He added that with the imposition of GST on agriculture equipment and domestic items will cause excessive expense to the average .

Simranjit Singh Mann has also criticized the Punjab government’s decision to dispose of truck unions in the state. He has appealed to the Punjab governor Sri V.P Singh Badnore to not accept the Punjab government’s decision.

  1. Mr Mann needs to adapt to new REALITIES like

    1) Democracy
    2) Law makers ability to make new Laws
    3) Ability of the Govt of day to implement these laws not with standing isolated oppositions .

    If Mr Mann wants any Change he will have to approach the law makers.
