CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Political Sikh prisoner Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara on June 16 underwent MRI in a Hospital of sector 32 in Chandigarh. Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara has been suffering from back pain from a long time. Since he did not have permission to get an MRI done, Burail Jail medical authorities were giving him pain killers.
Speaking with Sikh24, Advocate Simranjit Singh (ilegal counsel of Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara) informed that Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara was taken to the hospital in sector 32 with the permission of Union Territory’s Home Secretary.
He further informed that due to imposition of section 268 of Cr.P.C (Code of Criminal Procedure) on Bhai Jagtar Singh Tara, the Burail jail authorities can’t permit him to go outside without the permission of UT’s Home Secretary. “The Home Secretary of Union Territory had permitted Burail Jail authorities to complete MRI within an hour” he added.
At the time of writing of this story, test results are still being awaited.
Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a test that uses a magnetic field and pulses of radio wave energy to make pictures of organs and structures inside the body. In many cases, MRI gives different information about structures in the body than can be seen with an X-ray, ultrasound, or computed tomography (CT) scan.
