AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—In a written letter, Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar, President of the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee has appealed the Punjab Government and the Punjab Tourism Department to restart screening of Gurbani Kirtan on the way to Sri Harmandir Sahib.
In his letter, SGPC president Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar has demanded that the devotees from across the world appreciated the fact that the previous government had built a heritage path for the devotees from Kotwali to Jalianwala Bagh, which is the old way of reaching Sri Harmandir Sahib, Sri Darbar Sahib.
“There were three screens for the propagation of Gurbani Kirtan at different places on the heritage path by the previous government, but today there are screening of liquor and tobacco ads,” Prof. Badungar told Sikh24. “We would like to avoid such negative influences from the minds of devotees coming to Sri Harmandir Sahib,” he said.
He demanded the present government to stop the ill-fated advertisement running on the screens and resume the screening of Gurbani kirtan from Sri Harmandir Sahib. Prof. Badungar also appealed that the shops of meat, liquor, cigarette, tobacco, etc should be pulled out of the city.

All thugs of Badal’s SGPC does is write letters to Presidents, Governments and beg them to pardon the Sikh political prisoners, stop SGGS sacrileges, resume Kirtans and make committees and sub committees to investigate Sikh issues, with no real results. Badal led SGPC is the root cause of all contemporary Sikh problems.
