Delhi Court Blocks Jagdish Tytler’s Attempt to Slip Out of India

NEW DELHI, India—An attempt by Jagdish Tytler to leave India was reportedly foiled by a Special Court of Delhi headed by Justice Bharat Prashar. It has been revealed that Jagdish Tytler had hidden details of ongoing criminal cases pending against him before the Passport Office, in order to have his passport renewed.

Sikh24 has learnt that the matter came to light after Jagdish Tytler withdrew his application from the court seeking a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the renewal of his passport.

After probing the matter, the court found that he had already been in receipt of the renewed passport. The court then demanded the CBI to probe how he had procured the passport without an NOC.

Later, the CBI shared the court that Tytler had falsely submitted that no criminal case was pending against him before the passport office .

Sources have revealed that the court had summoned Jagdish Tytler to clarify his version of events. Jagdish Tytler followed the court orders and submitted before it that a clerical mistake was made in the application to the passport office.

However, the court said, “When you received the passport, you should have realised that there was something wrong since the NOC was still pending before the court. If it was a clerical mistake, you should have approached the authorities and submitted the passport and informed them about the mistake in the application but after getting the passport, you simply preferred to withdraw the application without showing a true and entire version of events to the court.”

During the deliberation, the investigating officer urged the court to take action against Tytler for knowingly presenting incorrect information.

Special Judge Bharat Parashar said, “Though an FIR should be registered, I am leaving it to the agency (CBI) to take any action as it may deem appropriate.”
