SGPC & DSGMC To Discuss Reconstruction of Gurdwara at River Ganges

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Sikh devotees on May 14 recited ‘Japji Sahib’ and performed ‘Ardas’ at Gurdwara Manji Sahib for high spirits for an initiative to reconstruct Gurdwara Gyan Godri Sahib at Hardwar. Prominent leaders of apex Sikh body SGPC and DSGMC were present for the initiation ceremony of the endeavour.

Gurdwara Gian Godri Sahib was established in the memory of Guru Nanak Sahib’s invaluable teachings of practical worship at Har Ki Paorhi in Haridwar. The Gurdwara was demolished while carrying out the beautification project of Ganga River.

Apparantly, a coordinated recitation of ‘Japji Sahib’ and ‘Ardas’ was performed at all the SGPC run Gurdwaras across Punjab, Haryana & Himachal Pradesh at 9 am for high spirits in the reconstruction of Gurdwara Gyan Godri at Hardwar.

Addressing Sikh devotees at the occasion, SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh said that the movement for the reconstruction of Gurdwara Gyan Godri was not a political move. He appealed to every Sikh outfit to join the movement, keeping aside their differences, for the re-establishment of historic Sikh shrine Gurdwara Gyan Godri at Hardwar.

Head Granthi of Sri Darbar Sahib Giani Jagtar Singh Ji, SGPC’s General Secretary S. Amarjit Singh Chawla, Secretary Dr. Roop Singh also addressed the Sikh devotees on the event.

  1. SGPC and RSS are not attacking Sikhs .
One must not pass comments without having evidence to back ones statements.

  2. First of all we should save our sikhi first from the attack from within from the likes of RSS and SGPC and follow our only Guru “Guru Granth Sahib ji” and nothing else. Then no one be able to touch our gurdwaras.

  3. It’s good to rebuild the Gurdwaras, but Khalsa ji wake up, every other day beadbi of Guru Granth Sahib ji, how you people sleep?
