HS Phoolka: AAP will play role of a constructive opposition in 15th Punjab Assembly

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Leader of Opposition in 15th Punjab assembly S. Harvinder Singh Phoolka has stated that the Aam Aadmi Party will play a role of constructive opposition in assembly. He has said that AAP was committed to keep hawk-eye on work of Punjab government besides acting as a shield for common Punjab masses to save them from state excesses.

Speaking with Sikh24, Harvinder Singh Phoolka said that the AAP will effectively raise the issues of drug menace, farmer’s suicides and their debts waiving, unemployment, and other issues in the budget session of the Punjab assembly due for next month. He added that AAP will pressurize the Congress led Punjab government to fulfill all the commitments made in its poll manifesto.

Harvinder Singh Phoolka also informed that he was going to commence a journey of Punjab to know the problems of common masses so that they could be raked up in the Punjab assembly to force government to sort out them.

Ruling out any dissociation in Punjab’s AAP leadership after appointment of Bhagwant Mann as state convener, S. Phoolka said that Mann was appointed as state convener with the nod of a majority of AAP legislators. On being questioned about Sukhpal Khaira and Kanwar Sandhu, Phoolka clarified that the party was making attempts to have them reconsider their stances.
