:dateline:Representatives of SGPC and DSGMC on May 6 underwent a meeting with SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh to discuss the movement to be initiated for the rebuilding of Gurdwara Gyan Godri Sahib at Hardwar. On this occasion, the DSGMC president Manjit Singh GK appealed Giani Gurbachan Singh to lead the movement to be initiated from May 14.
Interacting with media after meeting, Giani Gurbachan Singh informed that the entire Sikh world has been directed to recite �Japji Sahib� on May 14 and perform �Ardas� in their nearby Gurdwaras for the success of movement as it was a common cause for Sikhs. He said that further programme about the movement would be announced on May 14.
Giani Gurbachan Singh has also appealed the Hardwar resident Sikh masses to clarify the whole scenario before Sri Akal Takht Sahib authorities.
DSGMC president Manjit Singh GK said that the site of demolished Gurdwara Sahib was under control of Irrigation Department of Uttar Pradesh despite of the fact that it falls in Uttarakhand. �”We will meet the BJP-led Uttarakhand and UP governments to sort out the issue at the earliest,” he added.
It is noteworthy here that the Uttarakhand government had already offered to facilitate land for rebuilding the Gurdwara Sahib but the Sikh masses are demanding some of the original land to erect symbolic monument about the Gurdwara Sahib.
It is pertinent to note here that during fourth �Udaasi�, the founder of Sikhism Guru Nanak Dev Ji had taught lesson of humanity at Haridwar. Gurdwara Gian Godri Sahib was established in the memory of Guru Nanak Sahib�s valuable teachings at Har Ki Paorhi in Haridwar. The Gurdwara was demolished while carrying out the beautification project of Ganga River.
