Sikh Army men initiates work to remove snow from pathway to Sri Hemkunt Sahib

:dateline:In wake of opening of pilgrimage to Sri Hemkunt Sahib from May 25, the Indian Army�s 418 Engineering Core unit has started work to wipe away snow from the pathway to Sri Hemkunt Sahib. 30 army men of 418 engineering core unit along with 25 new�recruits men are working hard to remove 3 to 5 feet snow from pathway under the leadership of Subedar Iqbal Singh.

Speaking with Sikh24, Vice President of Sri Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust S. Narinderjit Singh Bindra informed that the trust has begun preparations for facilitating smooth pilgrimage to the pilgrims. He informed that the first �Ardas� of this season will be held on May 25 and the Army is likely to remove snow by May 20.

Manager of Gurdwara Gobind Ghat Sahib S. Sewa Singh informed that more than 500 Sewadars have been deployed in all the Gurdwaras situated on the way from Rishikesh to Sri Hemkunt Sahib. He added that all the arrangements for accommodation, langar (free food) and medical facilities for the pilgrims have also been completed so that the pilgrims can be given smooth experience of the journey. �
