If bronze, gold, and iron are broken, a blacksmith welds them together by putting them in fire. -Guru Nanak Sahib, Guru Granth Sahib, 143

Message: Fixing a faulty ego

If a piece of metal breaks into smithereens then a blacksmith welds them together by heating them in fire.

Similarly we need a connector or a medium which can reunite us with divinity that we are separated from.

That medium is: acknowledgement, appreciation and emulation of the virtues and presence of the Divine in our lives.

If we want to rediscover our divine potential then we should pay heed to the Gurus call. We should take a step forward and like the blacksmith, knock our egoism to shape, so that it can reconnect with the Divine.

Etymology: From Sanskrit lohakaar (iron worker) ? Pali lohakaar (coppersmith, ironsmith) ? Prakrit lohaar (blacksmith) ? Sindhi luhaaru and Lahndi/Punjabi luhaar (blacksmith).
