Sikh masses observe 29th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Bhai Vir Singh Babbar

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—29th martyrdom anniversary of Shaheed Bhai Vir Singh Babbar was observed with fervour at his native village Mehma Pandori situated in the Amritsar district. Following the culmination of Sri Akhand Path Sahib, the various Sikh preachers addressed the religious discourse to present Sikh devotees.

Addressing the attendees of martyrdom anniversary, Vice-President of Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwala Bhai Ranjit Singh Damdami Taksal said that the Sikh community owes a lot towards its martyrs. He said that martyrs had strengthened the foundation of Sikh sovereignty with their blood and to uphold their virtues is our moral duty.

Bhai Ranjit Singh Damdami Taksal further said that the Indian state was attempting to destroy the Sikh dignity by attacking the language, customs, history and culture of Sikhs in Punjab. He emphasized on the need of launching a campaign to aware Sikh masses about the cheap tactics being used by the Indian state to denigrate the Sikh dignity.

Appreciating the role played by Shaheed Bhai Vir Singh Babbar in the armed Sikh struggle, Bhai Ranjit Singh said that Bhai Vir Singh Babbar had sacrificed his life while following the path enlightened by the great Sikh of 20th century Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.

Bhai Ranjit Singh Damdami Taksal said that every Sikh youth needs to take inspiration from the sacrifices made by Sikh freedom fighters who laid their lives to strength up the struggle for Sikh sovereignty.

SYFB leader Bhai Harpreet Singh Tony appealed the Sikh youth to follow the virtues Sikhism and become a part of Sikh struggle.

Jathedar Baba Dilip Singh (Chief of Misal Shaheedan Tarna Dal), Bhai Joginder Singh (brother of Shaheed Bhai Vir Singh, Bhai Mohinder Singh, Bhai Harpreet Singh, Kavishar Kulwant Singh etc. were present on this occasion.
