Behbal Klan Tragedy: Jathedar Daduwal Hails Congress’ Decision to Annul Justice Zora Singh Report

Punjab Police targetting Sikhs in Behbal Kalan

BATHINDA, Punjab—Hailing the Congress led Punjab government for annulling the inconclusive report of Justice Zora Singh and appointing a new commission to re-probe the sacrilege episode of 2015, the Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib (appointed by Sarbat Khalsa 2015) Bhai Baljit Singh Daduwal has said that he has objection over the six months tenure given to the new commission led by Justice Ranjit Singh.

Speaking to Sikh24, Jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal said that the tenure of commission should be reduced to one month as it was easy for the new commission to prepare an honest report on the sacrilege episode because collection of factual record had already been done by the previous commission. He added that the new commission should also get reference from the investigation work done by the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Jathedar Baljit Singh Daduwal further said that the families of Shaheed Bhai Krishan Bhagwan Singh and Shaheed Bhai Gurjit Singh should be delivered justice at the earliest by indicting the responsible police cops under murder charges and tracing the culprits responsible for sacrilege incidents across Punjab.

It may be recalled here that the Punjab government had annulled the investigation report submitted by Justice Zora Singh by terming it as an inconclusive report. The Punjab government had appointed a new commission led by former Judge of Punjab & Haryana High Court Justice Ranjit Singh. He was ordered to probe all the sacrilege incidents occurred in Punjab in the regime of Shiromani Akali Dal including those of Bhagvad Gita and Quran Shariff.

While some of the Sikh leaders are watching the appointment of new commission as a hope of justice to the victims of Behbal Klan tragedy, the others are seeing it as an attempt to delay justice to the deceased families.
