AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Expressing concern over rising sacrilege incidents, the SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh said that the Gurdwara Management will be held responsible incidents involving negligence. In a press note shared with Sikh24 on March 6, Giani Gurbachan Singh stated that concerned Gurdwara Management will be summoned to Sri Akal Takht Sahib and a complaint against Gurdwara management will be lodged under section 295 of Indian Penal Code.
“Rising sacrilege incidents were a big conspiracy of anti-Sikh powers and the Sikh masses need to become aware of it. The appointed Granthi (Priest) and Management committee of Gurdwaras will be responsible if any sacrilege incident occurs in future,” the press note states.
Giani Gurbachan Singh added that the Management Committees should make sure the presence of a Sevadar inside Gurdwara premises in the absence of Granthi.
He directed all those Gurdwara committees to contact SGPC who have not still installed the CCTV cameras in the Gurdwara premises. He said that the SGPC was directed to ensure installation of CCTV cameras in all Sikh shrines.
The SGPC appointed Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh also expressed concern over the rising racial attacks on Sikhs in abroad.
