:dateline:To facilitate Sikh devotees with accomodations, the Supreme Sikh body SGPC has announced to construct two rest houses and a parking structure at Sri Amritsar Sahib. The projects have been scheduled to be initiated shortly with the efforts of SGPC President Prof. Kirpal Singh Badungar.
Speaking to Sikh24, SGPC Secretary Dr. Roop Singh on March 3 informed that in a recent meeting of SGPC executive committeem, the SGPC officials have decided to construct multistory rest houses, parking venues and quarters for SGPC employees in the five acre land owned by the SGPC in the Akali market.
He informed that a resolution in this concern has been passed by the SGPC�s executive committee and the architectural work for the projects has been started.
Dr. Roop Singh further informed that Sri Guru Ram Dass Senior Secondary School, Trai Shatabadi College and Guru Nanak Kanya School situated on Ramsar road would be transferred near Gurdwara Satlani Sahib near Chattiwind gate. �Place vacated after moving school and college on Ramsar road would be then used for constructing multi-storey rest house� he added.
Dr. Roop Singh further informed that the SGPC has also given nod to construct parking at the place behind Burj Akali Fulla Singh. ��
“Guru di golak greeb da mooh” SGPC should use the money of sangat for the welfare of poor, only then these money managers will be blessed by Guru Sahib.
Hardeep you said it, Money should be spent on the welfare of the needy and spreading the word of Guru Granth Sahib ji and not to accommodate nri’s visiting Harmandir Sahib.
SGPC needs to make
1) High Ended Sky scrapers to provide free stay to all pilgrims .
2) Amritsar need to be transformed into a Smart city .
3) Cleanest City
4) A free Super specialty Hospital for pilgrims
5) A free run School ,college and Universities .
6) Create environment friendly Jobs in the City .
