BREAKING: SAD (Badal) sweeps DSGMC elections

NEW DELHI—Bagging 35 seats out of total 46, the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) today swept the elections of Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee held on February 28. The Congress backed Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) led by Paramjit Sarna won over 7 seats only while the other 4 seats have gone to Independent candidates and of other small parties.

The counting of votes took place at five locations — ITI, Tilak Nagar; ITI (women), Vivek Vihar; ITI, Khichripur; Aryabhat Polytechnic at GT Karnal Road and Basic Training Institute at Pusa Road.

President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) Paramjit Sarna lost his seat to sitting DSGMC’s General Secretary Manjinder Sirsa. DSGMC President Manjit Singh GK also won his seat.

“Our victory once again proved that Sikh Sangat values performance more than negative propaganda. Thanking all.” tweeted DSGMC’s General Secretary Manjinder Sirsa.

Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma congratulated Akali Dal (B) on its win in the DSGMC elections.  He said it was victory of the Panth and loss of the Aam Aadmi Party and Congress.

It is pertinent to note here that the DSGMC has an annual budget of Rupees One billion, a major portion of which is generated from donations at historical gurdwaras – Bangla Sahib, Sisganj Sahib and Rakabganj Sahib. Eighteen public schools run by the committee also add to its income.

  1. Thinkers & scholars should find the better ways to elect their leaders, so that human beings can live peacefully. The common man votes only for his short term gains or false dreams & the whole country or kaum suffers for a long time.

  2. Long live Badal family and his party beyond end of Time.
Hope the family is able to have his party in every village, street ,City, state ,Nation ,continent, planet ,space stations ,Galaxies, parallel universes in the infinite universe we live in.

  3. Such a shame that the voters have forgotton about the evil Badals and their dirty doings and went and voted for these idiots who are set to destroy sikhi —

  4. By elections public can not find good leaders & good management, atleast in gurdwaras we have to change the system otherwise people will always elect those persons who don’t live life as per Sikh principals.

    • You said it, Elections are useful only if the electorate is well educated. The delhi management during the past few years have shown that they don’t even know abc of sikhism. Our history is being distorted under our noses, Guru Granth Sahib ji is being sidelined. our so called parcharks and kirtanias can’t find shabads from Guru Granth Sahib ji to recite . Waheguru save us.
