World Sikh Organization Condemns Quebec Terror Attack That Killed Six

QUEBEC CITY, Canada—In a press statement, the World Sikh Organization of Canada condemned the terror attack on Sunday, January 29, in Quebec.  During the attack last night,  two gunmen entered the Centre Culturel Islamique de Québec in Sainte-Foy, Quebec City and killed six people.

Terming the incident as horrific, World Sikh Organization said that the Sikh community stands in solidarity with the Muslims.

The attack took place yesterday at 7:50 PM.  Quebec police have confirmed that six people were killed and two more are in critical condition.

“Make no mistake: This was a terrorist attack.  This was a group of innocents targeted for practicing their faith,” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau told the House of Commons on Monday afternoon.

WSO President Mukhbir Singh said, “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims of last night’s horrific shooting. Today, Canadians stand together to condemn this act of terror and stand in solidarity with the Muslim community.”

“We will guard our shared values of diversity and inclusion even more jealously and we will work to prevail over the forces of hatred and bigotry. We are confident that law enforcement agencies will work quickly to bring those responsible for this tragedy to justice.”

The World Sikh Organization of Canada (WSO) is a non-profit organization with a mandate to promote and protect the interests of Canadian Sikhs as well as to promote and advocate for the protection of human rights for all individuals, irrespective of race, religion, gender, ethnicity, and social and economic status.

  1. Christians should not be trouble in Muslim countries what about other minorities ? its ok to trouble other minorities this shows that you do not regard everyone equal but than again you have Hindu thinking its about class and cast …… Sikhs suffering in Punjab at the hands of the Hindu Government and Badals who are also puppets of Hindus is ok….. have a reality check!

  2. On another note, their should be a correction to the article! The Quebec City police released an update today saying the perp fpr this terrorist act was one sole person: white male, 27, Alexandre Bissonette.

The other person they picked who was fleeing the scene was released as he was a witness who feared for his life. Bissonette was mostly apolotical according to his university and childhood friends until Le Pen visited in 2016 and this is where he starts to target refugee programs and feminist groups on social media and posters. Facism is dangerous.

My personal thought is, how are we the Sikh community in the West protectung our Guru and our institution? Sure we can lock the doors and use CCTV but that only provides evidence after the harm is inflicted. We should protect our gurdawaras, our mosques, our synagogues, our mandhirs and our churches.

  3. Christians should also not be troubled or harmed in Syria, Iraq, Egypt and Pakistan.
Conversions from Islam to Christianity should also be allowed without threat to their lives.

    • Sikhs should not be troubled or harmed in Punjab, Haryana, Himachal, Maharastura, Andhra and J&K. Conversion from hinduism to Sikhism should also be allowed without threat to their lives.

    • You are saying Christians should not be harmed or troubled with a straight face when you know RSS policy of reindoctrination Ghar Wapsi and assaults upon Christians and churches in India? People in glasshouses should not throw stones, Harish.
