

:dateline:Bringing an end to speculation, the AAP leadership has fielded its state convener, Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi, from Majitha assembly segment, as the nominee for the Batala constituency.
Convener Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi hails from Khokhar Faujian village in Batala and had joined the Aam Admi Party in February of this year. He was elevated to the post of State Convener after the suspension of former state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur due to corruption charges.
The AAP released its seventh list of candidates, announcing four further candidates namely Sukhwant Singh Padda from Kapurthala, Atul Nagpal from Abohar and Sukhwinder Singh Mann from Sardulgarh. The AAP has announced the names of 102 candidates out of a total of the 117 assembly constituencies of Punjab.
Meanwhile, it has also come into light that the AAP was attempting to make its State Co-Incharge Jarnail Singh contest the assembly polls from Punjab. Notably, Jarnail Singh is legislator from Rajauri constituency in Delhi and was shifted to Punjab by AAP recently to fulfill its need of needing a Sikh member.
According to�sources, the AAP leadership thoroughly deliberated on the decision on December 10 in the presence of its national convener Sri Arvind Kejriwal. AAP�s State Co-Incharge Jarnail Singh has said that he will abide by party�s instructions in any circumstances.
