FEROZEPUR, Punjab—A meeting was held at Ferozepur to deliberate upon preparations for Sarbat Khalsa 2016 on November 29 in which prominent Sikh personalities including Interim Akal Takht Jathedar, Dhian Singh Mand and President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar), S. Simranjit Singh Mann took part.

Addressing the meeting, Jathedar Mand said that the Sikh community has basic right to hold the Sarbat Khalsa to deliberate upon immediate challenges facing the Sikh community. He added the there were a many examples in Sikh history when the Sikhs organized their congregation to tackle their problems.

Slamming the Badal led Shiromani Akali Dal for denigrating the Takht Sahibans (temporal Sikh posts), Jathedar Mand said that the SGPC appointed Jathedars were playing into the hands of anti-Sikh forces. He maintained that the Sikh community was outraged at the Jathedars because of their acts of continually reducing Sikh dignity.

Similarly, a gathering was held at Tarn Taran on November 29, where Jathedar of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib (appointed by Sarbat Khalsa 2015) Bhai Amrik Singh Ajnala reiterated his stance to successfully conduct the event on December 8, at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib (Bathinda). He announced that Sarbat Khalsa 2016 will prove to be the last nail in the coffin of the SAD-BJP alliance in Punjab.

Jathedar Ajnala said that the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) led Punjab government had sabotaged the original Sarbat Khalsa 2016 event scheduled for November 10, by making statewide arrests of thousands of Sikh activists and deploying paramilitary forces at Talwandi Sabo. He further added that the Sarbat Khalsa 2016 will now be successfully concluded at Takht Sri Damdama Sahib on December 8.

Jathedar Satnam Singh Manawa (United Akali Dal), S. Harbir Singh Sandhu (Office Secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar), Bhai Balwant Singh Gopala (President, Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwala), Bhai Amrik Singh Nangal, Bhai Bhupinder Singh Sheron, Bhai Jarnail Singh Sakhira (General Secretary of Amritsar Unit of Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar), S. Karam Singh Bhoian (Distt. President of Tarn Taran Unit of Shiromani Akali Dal Amritsar), Bhai Buta Singh Khalistani, Bhai Satnam Singh Kot Khalsa, Bhai Sikandar Singh Warana, Bibi Kulwant Kaur, Bhai Sukhwinder Singh Mand, Bhai Ranjit Singh, Bhai Heera Singh, Bhai Shamsher Singh, Bhai Satnam Singh, Bhai Kulbir Singh, Bhai Manjinder Singh Malli, Bhai Jasbir Singh, Bhai Baljit Singh Bahadr Nagar etc. were also present in the meeting.

  1. This Schism many forces are trying to create between Hindus and Sikhs will convert Punjab into a middle eastern country.
Guruj Granth Sahib ji. Ramayana. Bhagvat Geeta.are as true as Bible and Koran.
Let Peace prevail in Punjab devoid of religious strife.
Religion is like playing with fire it can burn Punjab.

    • You can only have a schism within the same religion i.e. Sunii and Shia are both factions in Islam, Protestant and Catholic are both factions in Christianity. Sikhism and Hinduism are two DIFFERENT religions with not only altering but irreconcilably contrary abelief systems staring with the basic premise that Sikhi is monotheistic and totally rejects the pantheon of dieties present in Hinduism along with repudiation and rejection of caste system, superstition, astrology, ritualistic practices, animal worship etc. Therefore there cannot be a schism between Sikhi and Hinduism as they were never part of the same belief system to begin with. It is as nonsensical as stating there are forces trying to create a schism between Christianity and Sikhism – they were never together in the first place. As for your ridiculous and frankly offensive statement that our Guru is equivalent to your Bhagavad Gita and the fictional mythological epic Ramayana well that is again quite an immature thing to say. The Christians and Muslims do not regard the Bible and Koran as equivalents (as they hold contrary teachings for a start) and they too would also be offended that you try to equate their monotheistic scriptures with what what they would regard as pagan belief system of your Geeta.

  2. Go to Aleppo in Syria and Mosul in Iraq or read about them and you will understand Empires .
Every Sikh who does not agree with your brand of Sikhism is not an RSS man.
As for SAD and BJP they were always one and shall always be one in spite of all the schism that several forces internal ,neighbor and Global tries to create.

    • Syria and Iraq are MUSLIM countries. The communal conflict between MUSLIMS is down to a schism between their SHIA and SUNNI factions. The Sikhs do not belong to either faction as we are SIKH and NOT MUSLIMS. As Sikhs we do not need to try and dominate others as we don’t believe like either the Islamist or Hindu Taliban that our faith is more true and legitimate than somebody else’s. Now do you comprehend the irrationality of you talking about countries in the middle east. And it is not a brand of Sikhism my friend where you are trying to create schism. We are very fortunate in that Guru Gobind Singh Ji laid down the exact identity and doctrine of the Sikh by creating the Khalsa (with its baptism into the religion) and completion and inauguration of the Guru Granth Sahib as the eternal and final successor Guru. If you are not baptised into a faith how can you call yourself an adherent of the Panth. A soldier who who does not want to obey the order of his commander in chief can hardly say he is still part of the army. If you support the RSS which is totally antithetical to Sikh principles and has acted against Sikhs you cannot call yourself a SIkh, very simple. If you want to believe in caste system, astrology, superstitions and multiple Gods and Godessesses you are free to do so. As a Sikh we will respect your religious right to believe whatever you want so long as that does not extend to attacking the beliefs and rights of others – kindly do us the same courtesy. But you are right the Akali Badal Party and BJP are indeed one and the same, two sides of the same coin which has no place in the golak of any Gurdwara.

  3. This Harinder Guy is typical example of the RSS hinduvata and have no respect of Humanity – so long as his so called Empires are mentioned in everything he writes.

  4. Punjab will burn if you give to much weight age to hyper religious and hyper nationalist forces.
Learn the art of peaceful co existence.
We all live in multi religious and multi national world and Universe.

    • Oh god shut up…. India is a terrorist state that terrorizes minority groups…why is the army in the Maoist regions??? Why is Army in Kashmir???? Indian government uses the army to oppress people and to create fear in society and that’s why India has co existence it is because the police torture, corruption and state terrorism…. which is why India co-exists!!!

      • The constitution of India which the Empire dictated to India calls for suppressing all rebellions in the Indian Nation.
Kashmir and Maoist are fighting the Indian state so the Army is deployed.
The day rebellion stops the Army will go back to the Barracks.

      • Surely you are not again advocating arbitrary arrest, fake encounters, rape, torture, kidnapping, extra judicial killing and genocide as being constitutional let alone the proportional, responsible behaviour of a civilised democratic country against its own people?! The Internal Court in the Hague convicts those who believe so as being war criminals and those who engage in crimes against humanity. You really need to read your history properly when you talk of constitution. As reported in Young India, 19th March 1931, Mahatma Gandhi addressed the Sikhs in Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib Delhi and said “I ask you to accept my word and the resolution of the Congress that it will not betray a single individual Sikh much less the Sikh community. If it ever thought of doing so, it would only hasten its own doom… I pray you to unbossom yourself of all doubt and apprehensions. Let God be witness to the bond that binds me and the Congress to you. I venture to suggest that the non-violence creed of the Congress is the surest guarantee of good faith and our Sikh friends have no reason to fear that it would betray them. For the moment it did so the Congress would not only thereby seals its own doom but that of the country also. Moreover the Sikhs are a brave people. They know how to safeguard their rights by the exercise of arms, if it ever come to that”. That same Gurdwara was attacked by Congress led mobs in 1984. At a press conference in 1946 as reported in the Statemans newspaper July 7th 1946, Nehru said “the brave SIkhs of Punjab are entitled to special consideration, I see nothing wrong in an area set up in the north wherein the SIkhs can also experience the glow of freedom”. Then in 9th December 1946 he presented a resolution in the session of constituent assembly “Adequate safeguards would be provided for minorities in India. It was a declaration, a pledge, and an undertaking before the world’ a contract with millions of Indians and therefore in the nature of a oath which we must keep”. He then passed a resolution in the Congress committee on 5th January 1947 “The rights of the Sikhs in Punjab should not be jeopardized”. In July 1947 they passed resolution “In the divided Indian PUnjab special constitutional measures are imperative to meet the just aspirations and rights of the Sikhs”. Now talk of Sikhs breaking the Constitution when bad faith has been given to them after 1947 despite these assurances. We are the most loyal people of India because we keep our word. It’s not the Sikh people who are the problem let alone those who wish to exercise their democratic constitutional right to protest but rather those who wish to keep them under heel and have used numerous highly suspect laws (TADA, POTA etc) to ‘legitimise’ systematic human rights abuses against the people of Punjab (yes including Hindus too if you wish to look at the terrible story of Bapu Chaman Lal). There is no line of distinction between the self serving polity and the totally subservient police and judiciary in Punjab which now only serve as the hobnailed boot to the politician’s foot in stamping on the people’s civic and human rights.
It may also be pointed out that according to Helsinky Rules 1966 and the Indian Constitution (Entry 17 of List ii under Seventh Schedule), Punjab, as the riparian state, is entitled to the entire water of its rivers.’ Yet when that is inconvenient you completely ignore the constitution because only the Sikhs will suffer.

      • India is run by a constitution and not promises of Nehru or Gandhi who no longer are there.
In any democracy Law makers are supreme even above Police and Judicary who only execute the Laws made by Law makers.
As for water just reunite Punjab ,Haryana and HP to solve this simple problem.
Any rebellion in the Indian state will inivite the various laws like POTA and TADA.
Don’t rebel and get all changes you desire democratically you will enjoy a peaceful life.

      • ‘India is run by a constitution and not promises of Nehru or Gandhi who no longer are there.’ So the pledges they repeatedly made on behalf of the Congress Party and Independence movement which induced the Sikhs to forsake reforming a country of their own to join with India are no longer valid in your eyes. Don’t you understand what reneging on such a contract means? Why would one party to that contract then be expected to keep to the terms of that contract when the other has reneged and broken their part of the bargain? You are actually advocating for the break up of the country with such a proposal. I suppose I should not be surprised as you are an avid supporter of the RSS – an organisation whose number one poster boy Godse is the murderer of the father of the country who not only gave promise to the Sikhs about what to expect if they threw in their lot with a new country of India but also assurance that they got ensure their rights should the country fail to live up to them. As for Kashmir I would remind you that in that instance in 1947 Kashmir did not elect to be a part of India. Under the Treaty of Amritsar, Gulab SIngh, a traitorous Dogra who committed high treason against the Khalsa Raj was rewarded for his treason by the East India Company by being made by them the Raja of Jammu. The rule of his descendants, under the paramountcy (or tutelage) of the British Crown, lasted until 1947 when the British left. The people of Kashmir, majority Muslims unlike their Raja, did not give their assent to become part of India which has led to decades of what you call ‘rebellion’ but what they call ‘freedom struggle’. As for laws should Nelson Mandela have accepted the indignities of apartheid laws in South Africa because they were the legitimate sanctioned law of the land? WAs Martin Luther King wrong to defy the laws of Alabama and Georgia (voted for the electorate of those federal States) and just accept the Ku Klux Klan could firebomb black churches with impunity? You obey laws when they are just and you defy and over turn them when they do not deliver justice. Otherwise you enjoy the fate that the Jews suffered under the Nazis who passed law after law (all legitimately) against them before deciding upon the final solution to eliminate them entirely. Democracy means tolerating dissent and opposing views that you don’t like because that is how you change things for the better. And again very telling you talk of democracy and constitution but when the people of Punjab say no we don’t want you to loot our water and the constitution and international riparian laws also say the waters must stay with Punjab you simply ignore them both to steal the water regardless. You engender discontent by such hypocritical injustice.

      • India is not run by Nehru and Gandhi but by its present law makers.
It will have a new set of law makers every 5 years not bothering about the laws of past law makers .
The world laws are is run in this sequence
        1) First Priority to laws of Present law makers
        2) Second priority to laws of Future law makers
        3) Last priority of laws of past law makers.

        In terms of reality

        PRESENT is real ,
PAST use to be real and
        FUTURE is a potential reality.

      • Water of Punjab needs to be defended in Indian parliament and courts .Though personally alternatives could be an expert committees headed by CM of Punjab and Haryana to solve the problem in a amicable manner.
As for Kashmir they are not allowed to ethnically cleanse Kashmiri Pundits and then call it a freedom struggle. This is called Dadagiri.
Kashmir is an integral part of India and that is how it shall stay not with standing the freedom inspired slogans , stones and terrorism .
Nelson Mandela and South Africa are free as India is from the rule of Empire ;free to charter the destiny of there Nation. It was done in a amicable manner with out any terrorism.
Martin Luther King action paved the way for the first African President. No laws were broken but they were modified to meet the aspiration of present generation of African law makers.
Germany may have denied Jews their fundamental rights but the world ensured they got their rights .
So get all your rights you think you need by legal means and not through violence.
Make and live in a law abiding society.

      • ‘India is not run by Nehru and Gandhi but by its present law makers.’ I do not know if you misunderstanding through simple ignorance or deliberately being obtuse. Nehru and Gandhi were the founding fathers of the country. They made specific pledges / promises to the SIkhs urging the Sikhs to abandon reforming their own country in 1947 and joining India instead. They guaranteed the religious and political rights of Sikhs (who would have been a minority in Hindu India) and accepted that Sikhs would be an autonomous people. Sikhs joined India on this assurance. That is called a contract. All treaties and negotiations are based on trust and the honouring of such pledges by subsequent governmental administrations no matter whether they are from the left or right (as now with BJP) of the political spectrum. Only Heinrich Himmler observed of the Nazi Regime ‘ who compels us to keep the promises we make?’ What you are saying is well, yes that promise was made to induce the Sikhs but we never really meant to keep it and are going to keep Sikhs inside India now by force because there is nothing they can do about it. That is shameful and a disgraceful blot on our democracy especially when Sikhs disproportionately suffered more than any other peoples to free this country. New laws cannot just overturn old laws or constitutions without the people’s consent and we cannot have a situation where the majority population will always be able to outvote the minorities and effectively ‘legally’ strip them of their rights. These were supposed to be protected under the Constitution and the assurances / pledges / promises made by the country’s founding fathers who you are calling deceitful liars otherwise. You are actually advocating for a post truth society where nothing in the past is allowed to matter if it gets in the way of what you want to happen in present and future all in the name of ‘national security’. That is called fascism and is not what Sikhs fought and died for.

      • Nehru and Gandhi were not founding father of India.
It was the British Empire which constructed India by dismantling different states and reassembling them into a Nation.
This Nation was and still is administered by Empire through a Constitution to maintain a world order.

      • ‘Water of Punjab needs to be defended in Indian parliament and courts’. Water of Punjab is already guaranteed to Punjab by the Indian Constitution and by International Riparian Law. You only want those to be usurped because Indian polity and judiciary have a proven track record of disregarding the rights of SIkhs and can therefore be counted on sidestep constitution and international law. As for expert committees headed by CM of PUnjab and Haryana? What a joke? Yes let us give the keys to the henhouse to the fox and the wolf. As for Kashmir I am afraid you have to look at the historical root of the problem which is that Kashmir never formally asked to be a part of India but rather for military aid in repelling a Pakistani invasion of its territory. We must ask why it is that generation after generation of Kashmiri has such issue with Indian rule. Personally I think it is down to lack of autonomy and that Kashmir, Punjab and places like Assam would benefit from India following the UK model where there is a central parliament but where devolution allows a country like Scotland to have a level of self determination where it can express its unique identity within a greater union. Also interesting that you are content for Indian State to commit genocide and extra judicial killings on Sikhs but don’t call that dadagiri. Also again you are factually incorrect when it comes to Nelson Mandela. He was leader of a terrorist proscribed organsation the ANC, repeatedly arrested for seditious activities and prosecuted in the 1956 Treason Trial and arrested for conspiring to overthrow the state and sentenced to life imprisonment in the Rivonia Trial. He ‘broke the law’ and served 27 years in prison. How you can then say he achieved SOuth Africa’s freedom ‘in a amicable manner with out any terrorism’ completely ignores the fact that the ANC embarked upon an armed struggle with apartheid government and said government used laws and armed police to shoot black south africans in the street – never hear of the Sharpeville massacre, Soweto uprising or the extra judicial murder of Steve Biko? As for Martin Luther King not breaking any laws? Don;t you know that between 1958 and 1967 he was arrested 30 times for demonstrating and participating in non-violent protests against segregation.

      • ‘Nehru and Gandhi were not founding father of India. It was the British Empire which constructed India by dismantling different states and reassembling them into a Nation.
This Nation was and still is administered by Empire through a Constitution to maintain a world order.’ I know the RSS teaches its adherents to rewrite history but even by their perverted logic you have gone down a rabbit hole into Alice in Wonderland with what you are stating as you are actually then arguing for the dismemberment of India because you argue its is an entirely artificial country put together by the British Empire and only held together by a foreign Empire even now. The only way then to subvert the evil intentions of this ’empire’ then is logically is by denying it the existence of India. I do not think the RSS have quite thought this line of thought through – back to the billion monkeys tapping keys on a billion typewriters to make some sensible coherent narrative.

      • I have never asked for any dismemberment of any nation.
It is a privilege of EMPIRES to make and break Nations.

      • Your contorted logic calls for dismemberment of India because you argue Indians are incapable of ruling themselves and are nothing more than simpleton puppets dancing on the strings of your foreign EMPIRE. If this is the case then why would the Sikhs who have always refused throughout their centuries of history to bow to slave status not be entitled to cut those strings? The principle of self determination in the Punjab was established and exercised by Punjabi Hindus in the 1966 referendum after all. You understand now why you can’t have your cake and eat it by claiming India is great but at the same time not responsible for its own actions.

      • ‘India is one Nation and shall always stay United. All Indians live happily in this Nation.’ Same kind of nationalist slogan the Nazi’s used as they passed laws against Jews and then exterminated them.

    • Sikhs already have mastered peaceful coexistence with their neighbours for hundreds of years – you should learn from and can start with treating the Dalit as your equal in every respect. When you can bring yourself to sit next to him and eat form the same plate then talk to us about peaceful coexistence, until then you are only spouting hypocritical propaganda. As for hyper religiosity and hyper nationalism ban the Hinduvta Taliban such as RSS, Shiv Sena and stop this stupid attempt to force Indians to cheer the national anthem at cinemas.

  5. Holding Sarbat Khalsa how is this putting peaceful Punjab on fire ? Punjab is being turned in Iraq by the RSS BJP and the Badals. Sarbat Khalsa will happen as it has in the Sikh History.]
We commend you Jathedar Dhian Singh Mand Ji.

  6. Empire Forces in Nation are working systematically to put peaceful Punjab on fire again by
    1) Desecration of Guru Granth Sahib ji.
    2) Targeted killing of people in Punjab
    3) Holding of Sarbatt Khalsa inspite presence of SGPC and Akali dal
    4) Punjab and Haryana water confrontations
    5) Giving people into hyper religious mode
Be care ful don’t turn Punjab into another Iraq ,Syria or Kashmir.
Be careful of hyer religious or hyper Statist or hyper Nationalistic peoples..
Don’t get provoked and live peacefully all over the Globe in which ever Nation you live in .
Never forget that we have to leave this Earth and go to Space as in 4 billion year this earth is going to burn up.
Transform the community into space faring people going to different planets ,Galaxies and parallel Universes.

    • Harinder the never ending Sikh troll…I will write a novel about the pathetic Indian spies who never stop spreading their propaganda in order to confuse the Sikh community

    • YOU STUPID INDIAN SPY WHO PUT PUNJAB ON FIRE????? Your evil Indian government tanks did!!! Your evil beloved disgusting vile creature indira Gandhi put Punjab on fire…..it wasn’t the common person, it was your evil disgusting state terrorisism and dictatorship of a government that is to BLAME FOR ALL THE SUFFERING THAT HAS HAPPENED IN PUNJAB AND THAT CONTINUES TO HAPPEN UNTIL THIS VERY DAY SO TAKE THAT BIG INDIAN PROPAGANDA PIECE OF SHIT THAT YOUR INTELIGENCE AGENCIES HAVE SHOVED DOWN YOUR THROAT AND GET THE HELL OUTTA HERE YOU DISGUSTING PIG WHO EATS INDIAN PROPAGANDA SHIT, I BET IT TASTES REAL GOOD TO YOU, YOU NASTY INHUMANE VILE DISGUSTING GOOD FOR NOTNING CREATURE.

      • The story of Indira- Bhinderwala Punjab is like this
After 1947 lot of promises made to Sikhs were not kept by new law makers of India.
        1) 1978:–Nirankaris kill Sikhs.
        2) 1980-84:- Jarnail Singh Bhinderwala wrongly attributes the Killing to Hindus.
        3) 1980-84: –Innocent Hindus are killed
        4) June 1984:– PM Indira Gandhi carries out Op- Blue star to flush out Bhinderwala and his boys
        5) 31 Oct 1984 :– The PM Indira Gandhi is shot by her Sikh Body guards
        6) 01 Nov 1984;– The 3 rd genocide begins with a mix of spontaneous and sponsored action
That is where the story gets over.

    • It is very telling of your insidious Hinduvta agenda that you could not post any comment to defend discrimination against Sikhs such as the Sikh stopped form sitting an examination in Haryana or the denial of medical treatment to a Sikh prisoner (contrary to a court order) yet at any mention of the Sikhs holding a Sarbat Khalsa you are very quick to try and condemn it. We all know why. You think you have the Sikhs under control by your complete infiltration of Akali Badal Party and SGPC (I am sure they have given you assurances after all the coin they have taken from you) both of which are 20 century man made organisations which have ZERO religious legitimacy and were themselves only created to counter mahants who were betraying and undermining Sikhi. The Sarbat Khalsa is both our religious right and tradition and you have no business trying to deny it anymore than you have to deny our democratic rights and traditions. There is no ‘water confrontation’. The water belongs to PUnjab and other non agrarian States are trying to loot it. The targeted killing of people in Punjab are those of Sikhs including police officers. killing Sikhs in the street in broad daylight. Can you tell me which non-Sikhs have been target killed in Punjab please? For you hyper religious mode means Sikhs wearing their dastaars and kakkars. I am afraid we cannot disobey Guru Gobind Singh for you. You should concentrate your supposed dislike for hyper nationalism and hyper religiosity for the Hinduvta taliban who this week have both demanded that people must stand to attention in cinema halls to national anthem and also have the right of veto of Sikhs to have religious gatherings (Shiv Sena). Just leave the Sikhs alone for we are the only ones who are strong enough to too keep the Islamist of Syria, Iraq, et all from your door just as we did in the past against the Afghan and the Moghul when the forebears of the current amnesiac Hinduvta chestbeaters were trembling with fear and shameful silence as their daughters were dragged away.
