Portrait of Shaheed Bhai Jashjeet Singh Jammu installed at Central Sikh Museum

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—A portrait of Shaheed (martyr) Bhai Jashjeet Singh Jammu was today installed at the Central Sikh Museum, situated in Sri Harmandir Sahib complex.

Bhai Jashjeet Singh had killed on June 4, 2015 during unprovoked firing by Jammu Police contingents upon peacefully protesting Sikhs against the tearing of a poster of the “great Sikh of 20th century”, Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale.

On the eve of Antim (final) Ardas of Bhai Jashjeet Singh, Secretary of the SGPC, Dr. Roop Singh, had promised the installation of the portrait of within the Sikh museum.

But after the passage of a year, the SGPC hadn’t made any effort until Dr. Roop Singh was reminded by a Sikh delegation led by Chief Organizing Secretary of the Youth Akali Dal – Amritsar, Bhai Papalpreet Singh in July this year.

  1. There should be sikh Lawyers Group funded by money from different gurudawaras so that some action my be started to get the justice and the culprits may not get away with the crimes and future crimes my be stopped.

  2. We should never forget when innocent persons are killed. But time has come we should take concrete steps so these incidents don’t keep on happening to us all the time and no one is held responsible.
