DELHI, India—The leader of the Delhi version of the SGPC, the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), Manjit Singh G K has been accused of working with Badal’s SAD (Shromani Akali Dal), in order to mislead victims of the 1984 Sikh genocide.

Paramjit Singh Sarna, the former chief of the DGSMC, said the two groups were simply attempting to win voter points in their call for the government to issue 10bn rupees as compensation for the victims of the alleged state sponsored genocide of Sikhs in 1984.

After all these years of delayed justice to the families of those who suffered during the tragic event, Paramjit Singh asked why Badal had only made this demand now – clearly, in time for the elections next year. He accused them of exploiting the victims instead of the help they claim to be trying to pursue.
