:dateline:In a panel discussion held by the ‘Sikh Forum’ on the theme ‘The legal aftermath of 1984 and the way forward’, former Justice of Rajasthan High Court Justice Anil Dev Singh said that the 1984 Sikh genocide cases ought to be tried in special fast track courts. He further said that the properties of all the political personalities who headed the Hindu mobs in barbaric act of massacring Sikhs in Delhi should be ceased at the earliest.

The panel discussion took place on November 1 at 6:00 PM at the India International Center in New Delhi.

Former Advocate of Supreme Court S. Harwinder Singh Phoolka and Senior Advocate Vrinda Grover were also part of the discussion.

Justice Anil Dev Singh said that the government officials who neglected their duties and closed their eyes towards culprits should be declared as an accessory to the violence.

Phoolka said that the probing agency had always shielded the key culprits of genocide by working under pressure of Central government. He sought an independent and fast probe into Sikh genocide cases. He also pointed out a lapse in a murder case in which the chargesheet against Sajjan Kumar and others never reached the Court

Advocate Vrinda Grover said that the loopholes through which the Government officials remains untouched despite committing negligence in their duties need to be removed.

  1. We cannot expect Justice nor will we get it from the corrupt government of India. If all fails Sikhs are capable as the history has it get justice for themselves. Very well put Bhai Ji M Singh not that it makes any difference because it goes no deaf ears of not just Indian Government but these people continue believing in that system.

  2. This is happening because of people like you who don’t believe in defending human rights . This is the reason Sikhs are becoming alienated. It is history being repeated right in front our eyes.Just think for one second if the trio of Gandhi,Nehru, Patel kept their word to Sikhs after partition in 1947, 1984 would have never happened, What do you think will happen if justice is continuously denied.

    • We should appeal to the supreme court which has singularly failed in over thirty years to deliver justice every year until eternity? You mean until all the criminal culprits have lived long, unmolested lives, enjoyed the rewards meted out to them by Congress Party and Indian State (effectively immunity from prosecution and the rewriting of history) and died in their beds of natural causes so that ‘justice’ becomes not just a moot point but one that can also be easily forgotten about. What example you are giving to future criminals to commit pogroms and human rights abuses against minorities in our country – that the victims will exhaust themselves in the revolving doors of the court over decades whilst you can enjoy your lives? You just do not comprehend the gravity of what this continuing injustice does to the Sikh psyche – we will not forget and you continuing to deny justice puts us in the position where we will not be be able to forgive you either. This is a bloody stain on India’s honour and you should be rushing to wash it clean not put the dirty laundry in the bottom of the basket hoping people won’t notice the smell with the passage of time.
