Simranjit Singh Mann on October 31 submitted a memorandum to the President of India Pranab Mukherjee seeking 700 square yard land on 3 Safdarjang Road to build a Gurdwara Sahib in memory of Shaheed Bhai Beant Singh and Shaheed Bhai Satwant Singh.
Former Indian Prime Minister Inidra Gandhi was shot dead on the Safdarjang Road by Shaheed Bhai Beant Singh and Shaheed Bhai Satwant Singh in avenge of armed attack on sanctum sanctorum Sri Harmandir Sahib.
Addressing a press conference outside the 1984 Sikh Genocide Memorial, S. Simranjit Singh Mann said that Shaheed Bhai Beant Singh and Shaheed Bhai Satwant Singh were heroes of Sikh community as they had avenged the demolition of Supreme Sikh Institution Sri Akal Takht Sahib by assassinating the then Prime Minister Inidra Gandhi.
Lashing out at the Union Government of India for delaying justice to the victims of 1984 Sikh genocide, S. Mann said that the Union government had always shielded the perpetrators of Sikh genocide by appointing Commissions. Demanding the immediate indictment of key culprits of Sikh genocide, he said that the financial compensation could never replace justice to victims.
