SOHILA
A Hymn of Peace and Joy!

Goodbye Guru ji for the day!

Three times in our life, we, the children of the Divine, say goodbye: when we go to sleep, when we change our lives for the better, and when we pass on from this earth.

Sohila or Kirtan Sohila is the last prayer before bedtime. So many times have we thanked and said goodbye to the Guru Granth Sahib with this prayer. It’s an appreciation of a good day that has gone by.

After the hustle and bustle of a busy day, Sohila is considered to calm us down and lull us into a peaceful sleep.

But do we understand the deeper meaning of it?
