Attack on Dhadrianwale: Ludhiana Police presents status report to High Court

2014-08-18- dhadrianwaleCHANDIGARH, Punjab—In relation to the deadly attack on Sikh preacher Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwale, the Ludhiana Police has filed an affidavit before the Punjab & Haryana High Court explaining the  developments in the investigation. Notably, Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwala was attacked on May 17 near Ludhiana in which his close aide Baba Bhupinder Singh was shot dead.

In an affidavit filed before Punjab & Haryana High Court on October 18, the Assistant Commissioner of Ludhiana (West) police, Rupinder Kaur Sra, told the bench of Jaishree Thakur that 14 arrests have been made till now in the case with the affidavits filed against them in trial Court of Ludhiana.

Explaining about the allegations on Chief of Damdami Taksal Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma of masterminding the attack, ACP Sra has told the Court that the investigations were continued and after making any arrest, supplementary affidavits will be filed.

Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwala had moved a petition in Punjab & Haryana High Court during the month of June seeking update in the Police investigations about deadly attack on him. The High Court had then ordered the Police present report of investigation.

The Court has deferred next hearing onto October 24.
