There are those who laugh at others, while they themselves are one-eyed. Kabir is embarrassed seeing them. Bhagat Kabir, Guru Granth Sahib, 332
Message:There are some who themselves are full of so many faults, as if they are blind in one eye; but laugh at even the slightest weaknesses of others. Seeing such people, any good person feels embarrassed at even being associated with them.
This week, the verses point to the different conduct of people e.g., high handedness, ignorance, pride, foolishness, stubbornness and the list goes on. Have compassion for them, as they are in darkness, drifting away from wisdom, and not knowing that their seeming cleverness will bring them sorrow instead.
Keep your mind stable and clear of any evil thoughts, dont get into unnecessary arguments or conflicts with anyone. Be focussed and associate with divine-centered people who can help us to remain attuned to spiritual awareness.

Summary of the Week:
This weeks journey on human traits, illustrates what we may be ourselves or we may meet people of such traits. Its a warning that if we associate with negative people we will become like them too. Also the enemy is within, if we allow our minds to also become negative while arguing with negative people.
How should we interact with them? At any time, our objective of being positive and calm should never be overpowered by other peoples negative traits.
We act according to the inclinations of the mind. As such, our aim is to discipline the mind by doing regular checks, erasing duality and doubts. In our lives, there are some people whom we cant avoid, and as such, adaptability with a focused and stable mind, will ease the experience.
A goal is achievable when one is strong, focussed, and positive. Progressively, strengthen your thoughts through divine knowledge and enjoy a blissful calm state of mind. When that happens, the knives and daggers of sharp and evil tongues will cease to hurt us anymore.
There is always something to do. There are hungry people to feed, naked people to clothe, sick people to comfort and make well. And while I don’t expect you to save the world, I do think it’s not asking too much for you to love those with whom you sleep, share the happiness of those whom you call friend, engage those among you who are visionary, and remove from your life those who offer you depression, despair, and disrespect. -Nikki Giovanni, one of the worlds most well-known African American poets, b. 1943
