Former British Soldier to be jailed for racially abusing Sikh women

:dateline:Christopher Blurton, a 51 years old former British soldier, was addressed 10 months sentence by the Derby Crown Court for using racial remarks against Sikh women living in his neighbourhood. Notably, Blurton had called the two Sikh women �ISIS slags� and �Dirty Pakis�.

Founding Blurton guilty of racial abuse, the recorder Adrian Redgrave said that Blurton�s criminal record depicts that he resorted to violence several time while drunk. Holding Blurton responsible for using racial remarks against the two Sikh women, the Derby Crown Court�s recorder addressed him with 10 months sentence. ���

The women who complained about Blurton held that they were abused multiple times�between June 28 and August 19, 2015. �Blurton has reportedly�shouted slurs from his garden against the women and written a note to them, the charge he has denied. �Blunton denied sending a written note and claimed that he was�shouting at his TV, not at his neighbours.

Blurton’s�criminal record shows that he has�resorted to violence in the past when drink.

Sikh community has been dealing with sharp rise in hate crimes. �Several members of the community have suffered both physical and racial abuses.

Gurbaksh Singh from Derby told Sikh24, “We have seen an increase in hate crimes. �People here look at our turbans and associate us with ISIS and other terrorist organizations.”

Sikh organisations in UK have held several meetings with government officials about rise in hate crimes. �This past week, officials from the Sikh Federation UK met with Lord Bourne, the Minister of Integration, to acquaint him about hate crimes against the Sikhs in UK.
