:dateline:Interacting with the media at Chandigarh on September 12, Head of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Captain Amarinder Singh expressed doubts over Navjot Sidhu�s political forum �Awaz-e-Punjab� by terming it as an �fishy-venture�.
“Neither Navjot Singh Sidhu nor his wife Dr. Sidhu have resigned from�BJP distinctly, instead Dr. Sidhu still continues to represent BJP in state assembly,” Amarinder questioned.
Ruling out the possibility of any impact of Navjot Sidhu�s �Awaz-e-Punjab� on Punjab polity, Captain Amarinder Singh said that Sidhu was never a big shake.
“It is the media that has hyped him up,” he added. �”Sidhu�s �Awaz-e-Punjab� was ultimately going to benefit Congress by damaging vote bank of ruling Shiromani Akali Dal, BJP and AAP.”
Refuting the allegation of shielding Bikram Majithia from CBI enquiry in drug mafia case, Captain Amarinder Singh said, “if I�was in friendly politics with Shiromani Akali Dal, then why did they bring�multiple cases against me?”
Addressing the plight of farmers, Captain Amarinder Singh said that the Union government of India has earned profit of more than $300,000 crores�due to low price of crude oil. He urged the Union government to use this money for�eradicating farmer debt.
