CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Aam Aadmi Party’s former state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur, who was sacked by the Political Affairs Committee on August 26, has refused to appear before the investigation committee organized by Kejriwal to probe allegations against him.

Denying the possibility of appearing before the committee, Chhotepur said that he won’t appear before the commission as one of the commission member is responsible for spreading rumours against him.  Speaking with Sikh24, Chhotepur questioned how could such a member avail him justice who himself was involved in the conspiracy.

It is notable here that Delhi based AAP legislator Jarnail Singh and an AAP leader Jasbir Singh Bir were appointed in the committee by Arvind Kejriwal.

“If AAP would appoint honest candidates like Harinder Singh Khalsa, Dr. Dharamvir Gandhi or Journalist Kanwar Sandhu, then I can think about appearing before the commission,” Chhotepur said.

Meanwhile, 7 out of 13 zone incharges of AAP in Punjab have come out in support of sacked convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur. The internal clash within AAP ranks in Punjab probably going to benefit the political opponents.

Meanwhile, on August 27, president of ruling Shiromani Akali Dal and Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab, Sukhbir Badal made it clear that the Shiromani Akali Dal won’t accept sacked AAP’s state convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur. He added that the Shiromani Akali Dal has its own team of hardworking, honest and determined workers and Chhotepur would not be allowed in the party.
