SIRSA, Haryana—SGPC appointed Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Giani Gurbachan Singh was strongly opposed by Sikh masses in a public appearance at village Dadu of Sirsa (Haryana).
The outraged Sikh masses hurled tomatoes at Giani Gurbachan Singh which caused a clash between the management of the function and the protesting Sikhs. Interestingly, village Dadu is the headquarters of Sarbat Khalsa 2015 appointed Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Bhai Baljit Singh Daduwal.
According to information from reliable sources, the death anniversary of a Baba Gurdev Singh is marked each year at Gurdwara Dashmeshsar in village Dadu. SGPC appointed Jathedars Giani Gurbachan Singh, Giani Gurmukh Singh and Giani Mall Singh were to take part in this function. A faction of village residents had earlier announced they would oppose them with black flags and tomatoes as soon as they enter the village.
Upon their arrival, the villagers displayed black flags and hurled tomatoes at his car. Some of the protesters also waved black flags while he started his address at the program. The protesters were then attacked by “SGPC Task Force” members.
