LUDHIANA, Punjab—In relation to a case pertaining to recovery of an AK-56 riffle in Ludhiana, Justice Varinder Kumar (Ludhiana) has ordered Jathedar Jagtar Singh Hawara for personal appearance in the case on August 22.  The case was registered on December 30, 1995 under section 25 of Arms & Ammunition Act.

Speaking with Sikh24’s correspondent, defense lawyer Advocate Jaspal Singh Manjhpur informed that Jathedar Hawara had attended all the Court proceedings in the case via video conference. But now the Court has to record his version in the case under section 313.

Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara was appointed as the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib by Sarbat Khalsa 2015 gathering at village Chabba near Sri Amritsar.  He was earlier produced in Ludhiana in October 2013 amidst heavy security.  Hundreds of Sikh activists welcomed Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara and shouted slogans to express solidarity.

Meanwhile, a complaint has also been filed with Bhai Hawara in regards to misuse of status by Sri Harmandir Sahib granthis.  Principal Parwinder Singh Khalsa of Gurmat Chetna Lehar acquainted Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara about wrong-doing by Darbar Sahib Granthi Bhai Jagtar Singh on August 9.  Bhai Khalsa wrote to Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara about the incident during which the Granthi Singh got up during middle of his duty to honour Sukhbir Badal and his wife Harsimrat Badal.

Bhai Parwinder Singh stated that at this time, Granthi Bhai Jagtar Singh (Darbar Sahib) was sitting behind the palanquin of Guru Granth Sahib.  As he saw the couple arrive at Sri Harmandir Sahib, he got up to honour them.  Bhai Parwinder Singh complained that this was a blasphemy and the Granthi Singh should be reprimanded.
