The SIT was made to file reports on the cases within six months, but later its validity was extended for one year without any reason.
Recently, the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, questionedthe Union government of India about the inefficiency of courtsfollowing which the SIT became active in wake of the upcoming assembly elections of 2017 in Punjab.
