FATEHGARH SAHIB, Punjab—President of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) S. Simranjit Singh Mann has appreciated Arvind Kejriwal’s move of writing a letter to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking an independent Special Investigative Team (SIT) to probe into 1984 Sikh massacres. Kejriwal had written to PM Modi apprising him of inefficiencies of Special Investigation Team appointed by Union government to re-probe 1984’s Sikh genocide cases.
During a press conference at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib yesterday, June 22, S. Man asked the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal to appoint people’s commission to re-probe the cases of 1984 Sikh genocide. S. Mann also suggested Kejriwal to comprise the commission with honest judges who can honestly probe the cases.
Kejriwal had earlier written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which he had stated that the SIT appointed by Union government couldn’t yield any result despite passage of more than a year its appointment. Kejriwal had termed the Centre’s SIT as a mere show off, not capable of bringing justice to the Sikh victims. He had appealed to the Prime Minister to allow Delhi Government to organize SIT so that culprits of 1984 Sikh genocide could be brought to justice.
Notably, 237 Sikh genocide related cases were closed due to unavailability of victims and evidences. In more than three decades, the Union government of India has appointed 11 commissions and committees to probe Sikh genocide cases. Unfortunately, none of these commissions could bring the culprits to justice due to political influence of pro-Hindu political parties.
Do we really believe that the Modi is going to listen to Kejriwal? this is all in the name of votes to win election of 2017 – is this the party who calls Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Bhindrawale “terrorist”….. sangat ji do not trust them…..
