Priceless are the virtues of the Divine, and priceless their trade. – Guru Nanak Sahib, Guru Granth Sahib, Page 05
Message:First part of stanza 26 of Jap Ji discusses how everything relating to the Creator is beyond valuation and assessment. The Guru here uses the metaphor of trade: priceless are the qualities of the Divine and prized is their trade; peerless are the traders who make the exchange. Blessed are those who have nurtured love and absorbed these divine qualities. Trading here means exchanging the bad in us and acquiring the good.
Precious is each of the blessings bestowed upon us. Unique is the whole system, the divine plan, which governs the phenomenon of the universe and administers justice to everyone in accordance with their deeds and cosmic laws.
Once again, the Guru stresses the futility of trying to describe the Creator and its qualities as they remain beyond reckoning.
Hence, instead of wasting your energy in trying to measure them, embrace and adapt to them, the beautiful virtues and bounties of the Divine, and be in peace!
