Dal Khalsa and Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) merge together

New Leadership of Dal Khalsa

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Two pro-Khalistan Sikh bodies have merged together in hope to work towards their goal of a sovereign Sikh state.  Namely, the Shiromani Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) and Dal Khalsa were today, May 20, completely merged together and the announcement of unification was made at a press conference in Chandigarh.

The bodies have resolved to carry on old name ‘Dal Khalsa’ for the new organization as the word ‘Dal Khalsa’ is traditional word of Sikh history.

Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema has been appointed as working president of the new organization. Advocate Harpal Singh Cheema hails from Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and he has been struggling for the establishment of Sovereign Sikh state since 1980’s. In 1990’s he fled to United States seeking asylum but he was deported back to India due to some objections raised by FBI.

Dal Khalsa’s patron Bhai Gajinder Singh will be the patron of new Party while the Patron of Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani) Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu has been appointed as an advisor.  Bhai Gajinder Singh is currently on exile in Pakistan, however he is very much involved in Sikh politics across West Punjab over social media.

Addressing the media on this occasion, President Harpal Singh Cheema said that his party was plaintiff of principled and ideological politics. He said that establishment of sovereign Sikh state is goal of this organization and the party will work for the right of referendum for Punjab.  He added that the Indian government had represented Khalistan ideologues in negative manner so tackling their attacks would be priority of his party.

Simranjit Singh Mann and Daljit Singh Bittu in 2006

In June 2006, the Shiromani Khalsa Dal (SKD) led by Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu had merged with the Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar).  Similar to the goals announced today in Amritsar, both SKD and SAD Amritsar had announced similar goals in 2006.  However the merger only lasted for a year and half, when in December 2007, growing rifts between S. Simranjit Singh Mann and Bhai Daljit Singh Bittu led the latter to resign from Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) and form a new outfit named as Shiromani Akali Dal (Panch Pardhani).

    • Please remember I have disproved this ridiculous notion of yours time and time again – Nations are created and destroyed by the actions and inactions of individuals. You only say otherwise because you wish to spread the pernicious idea that one can do nothing to alter one’s lot and must submit to misery through personal impotence. That is completely contrary to Sikh teaching but in line with Brahmanical thinking that one must be subservient and mutely accept lowly stratified positions in life. The Khalsa Raj of Maharajah Ranjit Singh was not ‘created’ by British or Moghul Empire but by Ranjit unifying the Sikh misls under his personal vision and leadership and was destroyed after his death by the high treason of the Dogra brothers Dhian and Gulab and their fifth columnist generals Lal and Tej Singh who sold themselves for personal material gain.
