JALANDHAR, Punjab— Addressing a gathering of AAP workers at Jalandhar on May 8, Comedian Gurpreet Singh Ghuggi said that he doesn’t accept Mahatma Gandhi as his father and Jawahar Lal Nehru as his Chacha (Uncle). He added that the duo was being represented as they did everything for achieving freedom from Britishers.

He stated that he accepts Shaheed Bhagat Singh and Shaheed Kartar Singh Sarabha as martyrs and recognizes their sacrifices for India’s independence.

It is notable here that comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi has been recently inducted to Kejriwal led Aam Admi Party that adheres to the ideology of unity and integrity of India. But this outlined statement by Gurpreet Ghuggi might create troubles for him in future.

While addressing the gathering, Ghuggi questioned why no one remembers the sacrifices by martyrs such as Rajguru, Sukhdev, Kartar Singh Sarabha, Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Sohan Singh Bhakna, Gurdit Singh, Teja Singh Sutantar and Banta Singh Sanghwal.”

Renowned Punjabi singer and comedian Gurpreet Ghuggi joined the AAP party in February 10, in the presence of senior AAP leader Durgesh Pathak, Sanjay Singh, Sucha Singh Chhotepur and Bhagwant Mann.  Since then, he has addressed several conferences and political rallies speaking in favour of the party.
