Once Upon A Time in Amritsar film depicts violence at Harimandar Sahib

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—The trailer of the film Once Upon a Time in Amritsar, which was released just 3 days ago on April 2, contains controversial scenes which depict violence in the periphery of Sri Harmandir Sahib.

SGPC President Avtar Singh Makkar clarified that none of the filmmakers were ever given permission to shoot inside the Sri Harmandir Sahib complex and would also not be given such permission in the future. He added that that these scenes were produced with special effects.

Additional SGPC Secretary, Diljit Singh Bedi, said that the SGPC had approached the director of the film and he has promised to cut the controversial scenes from movie before releasing it.

Once Upon A Time In Amritsar is a 2016 Punjabi film directed by Harjit Singh Ricky, written by Mohit Banswait and starring Dilpreet Dhillon, Gurjind Mann, Tanvi Nagi and Sonia Kaur as the main cast of the film. This film is set to be released worldwide on 29 April 2016.
