O mind! Long for the Divine as the water longs for the milk.- Guru Nanak Sahib, Guru Granth Sahib, Page 59
Message: Dying for love, or She is a woman to die for, are common phrases heard in public that someone voices to show intense love for another. What has water got to do with it?
Scientifically when water is put to boil, it can resist for some time before it evaporates. So what happens when we boil milk? The water bears all the heat and evaporates after burning itself and prevents the milk from burning. Such is its sacrifice such is its love and service to milk. In fact, it is only living up to its nature.
Lets develop the kind of true unconditional love for the Almighty as water possesses for milk. Those who acquire love of the Divine and long for union with the Infinite that created and sustains us attain the Truth through love, and in the process earn peace, happiness and honour in life.
Etymology: From Sanskrit ? Pali ? Prakrit jal (water). Comparable to Bengali/Hindi/Nepali jal (water).
