:dateline:Following the March 22 conference at Anandpur Sahib by the Sikh Sadhbhawna Dal, the SGPC has officially fired Bhai Baldev Singh Walada and issued a strict warning to its hazoori raagis to not attend such events. Sikh24 has learned that the SGPC called several ragi jathas to the Teja Singh Samundri Hall where they were given strict orders to not communicate with Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala. While SGPC president Avtar Makkar was not himself present at the meeting, Sikh24 has been told that SGPC Chief Secretary Harcharan Singh chastised several Ragi Jathas.

On March 22, a large scale seminar was organized at Sri Anandpur Sahib, where a gathering of almost 10,000 Sikhs resolved to carry out a Gurdwara Reform Movement. Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala, former hazoori ragi of Sri Harmandir Sahib, is the main sevadar of this movement, the Sadbhawna Dal.

Following the seminar, several SGPC senior officials, including President Avtar Makkar also held a meeting with other executives at 2 PM in which they discussed several other important issues, including the growing popularity of the “Gurdwara Sudhar Lehar”.

Bhai Wadala was removed as the Hazoori Ragi of Sri Harmandir Sahib after he protested the appointment of Chief Secretary Harcharan Singh, alleging that his appointment was against the Sikh Gurdwara Act of 1925. He claimedthat Harcharan Singh did not meet the age requirement, and the act has no provision for the post of chief secretary. He also made allegationsthat Harcharan Singh has strong ties with the RSS and the Badal family.

Earlier, the SGPC had revoked the kirtan duties of several prominent hazoori ragis, including Bhai Harcharan Singh and Bhai Karaj Singh.

Several prominent Ragi Jathas of the SGPC have close proximity with Bhai Baldev Singh Wadala. If they give support to the Gurdwara Reform Movement, Bhai Wadala can easily secure several seats in the upcoming SGPC elections which are scheduled to take place later this year.
