jau mai keeo sagal seegaaraa. tau bhee meraa man na patee-aaraa.
Even when I totally decorated myself, still, my mind was not satisfied.

Message: Our body should be looked upon as a temple. It houses a mind and an eternal divine spark that enables us to live in this world. Unlike the body, which is fixed in time and space, the mind is not confined by a physical reality. It has amazing power, being able to connect to both the physical and spiritual parts of us humans.

There is an inherent human desire in this body. It is, to be looked on favourably by the others and to make a connection with them. To be seen as desirable and beautiful to others, we adorn ourselves, with outward decoration. The mind and the senses are drawn towards this external beauty. But this attraction is transient.

Material and worldly decoration of the body, although immediately desirable, cannot satisfy the mind in the long run. Hence the restlessness, that sets in after a short period of pleasure. The mind is looking for a connection with the eternal divine spirit hidden inside the body. As long as we are focused on adorning the body from the outside, ignorant of the treasure trove that lies inside, the mind will remain restless.

Etymology: Modification of seegaar, from Sanskrit shru?gaar (fine clothes and ornaments for pleasure; fine garments; finery) ? Prakrit/Pali singaar ? Sindhi seegaaro, Hindi seegaar (adornment).
