:dateline:Prominent Panthik journalist Talwinder Singh Buttar from Anandpur Sahib was manhandled and forcibly kicked off the bus by an Orbit bus conductor. Buttar was on his way to Patiala from Ropar when he boarded the Orbit bus with license plate numberPB-03AJ-7536 on March 1.
I am physically handicapped, and not able to walk without support. Upon boarding the bus, I asked the conductor for discounted fair, said Talwinder Singh Buttar. I showed him my identification card, which authorizes me for discounted fair on all public transportation, however, despite having explained my physical disability, the conductor refused to cooperate, said Buttar.

The conductor was rude and did not want to reason, he said. By this time, the bus had taken off and Buttar had no option. I was shocked, I had the pass issued by the Punjab Government and no one has refused to issue handicapped ticket to me in past, he said.
Buttar was told by the conductor to not make a scene, else he will be removed from the bus. Upon this, Buttar confronted the conductor and said, I am a journalist, I wonder how you people treat others.
Shortly upon reaching village Rangilpur near Roopnagar, the conductor asked the driver to slow down the bus and pushed Talwinder Singh down from the stairs where he was standing to get off at the next station.
SSP Varinder Singh acknowledged that a case has been registered and an inquiry is on-going. He however refused to identify the bus conductor. As per recent information received by Sikh24, the conductor has been dismissed from duty.
Aam Aadmi Party Punjab Convener Sucha Singh Chhotepur condemned the incident and highlighted that nothing more can be expected from Badals after the murder and molestation case in Moga. He said that it was not just Badals, but all their staff members were having a power hangover.
Orbit bus company has long been in the highlights for various incidents. Owned by Punjab Deputy Chief Minister’s wife Harsimrat Badal, one of the Orbit bus drivers and its conductors molested a 13 year old girl, later pushing her and her mother off from the bus. The incident led to the death of the girl on spot, while seriously injuring her mother.
You had the head of opposition AAP party Kejriwal’s car stoned and attacked in Ludhiana. You arrest Sikh speakers for sedition. You try to ban peaceful Sikh mass protest gatherings and denounce their validity and indeed shoot at Sikhs. You ‘win’ a seat which has been vacated by the opposition incumbent to make a political protest and which is then boycotted by that and Panthic opposition parties to continue making the point of protest. You have a monopoly control of police and media and all the patronage that comes with that. Should I go on? Just like the book 1984 it is better for you not to pronounce on democracy as you have equally little understanding of the point of that also.
Power should be captured only through the ballot box.
It will automatically lead to the well being of majority of the citizens who participated in that democratic exercise.
Why don’t you travel in buses.
Capture power and you may also Monopolize what ever u desire.
‘Capture power and you may also Monopolize what ever u desire’?! You really have a totally perverted notion of both democracy and public service don’t you! You are not supposed to go into politics and governance with the full intention of taking advantage of your public position to enrich yourself and your friends! Astounding that you think it is okay and aspirational but clearly explains why the Punjab is in the terrible condition it is in when you are supporting the likes of the Badals who I presume share your twisted sense of ‘public duty’. ‘Capture power’? You have no respect for the electorate or the democratic process. When one wins an electorate mandate – and this should be purely by the power of your argument not the might of your resources – one should be humbly grateful to the electorate who have placed their faith in you as their public representative to make their lives better. They didn’t vote you in to make just your family and friends lives better by creating monopolies which both cost the State financially and rob the people of lower prices and improved services that naturally come from market competition! Honestly you damn yourself and your ilk with every utterance you make on this website hypocritically espousing democracy when you really believe in autocracy, betraying, abusing and indeed mocking the public trust.
You too can start the “Transport Empire” .
No one is stopping you or for that matter any one in Punjab.
Don’t you understand the word ‘monopoly’ RSS Harinder? All licences to operate transport companies in Punjab, bus routes etc have to be obtained through the auspices of Punjab Government which is being run like a family business by the Badals at present. The conflict of interest rises in that they are the ones who will authorise competitors to their own businesses and of course they will not allow competitors to come into market and take money out of their pockets as money is their number one goal in life rather than providing public service.
If it be so then they need to lodge a complaint with police and go to court .
“BADAL THE GREAT “needs to expand his Transport industries to include
1) Shipping
2) Air lines
3) Taxis
4) Space ships
5) Space Stations.
May the King Badal rule extend till eternity .
Long live King Badal.
They need to lodge a complaint with the police? Which police – the ones that shoot Sikhs in the street and are then protected by the Badals? As for increasing their monopolistic stranglehold on transport in Punjab why do you want that? To put more cash into their hands whilst more girls are raped and disabled people are discriminated against? They have a massive conflict of interest when in government they are in charge of state funds and contracts and awarding to their private companies through brazen corruption and nepotism.
Absolutely disgusting and disgraceful. This bus conductor should be sacked and made a public example of as he was probably going to pocket the extra money as well as actually discriminating. Problem is he is an employee of Punjab Deputy Chief Ministers wife Harsimrat Badal – the same woman who shamelessly went on live TV and declared that she did not know who the owners of the Orbit Bus Company were when that poor girl was raped and thrown off an Orbit bus when she was herself a shareholder of that very Badal family owned company at the time! Taking advantage of and exploiting vulnerable people for personal profit – a perverted public service ethos (i.e. paraphrasing Badal mafia cheerleader RSS Harinder’s words ‘God helps them who help themselves to other people’s money) that has dribbled down from the top to this bus conductor who probably thinks like Sukhbir Badal that he deserves a siropa for showing ‘entrepreneur initiative’. Just like those cops who murdered Sikh protesters this bus conductor can look forward to full patronage and protection of his Badal employers and will be ‘working’ on the next bus.
