Akalis Hint at Breaking Nexus with BJP; Take Up Panthik Issues To Lure Votes

2014-09-23_gk:dateline:Several Akali leaders have started giving strong hints at growing rifts between them and the BJP leaders. After Parkash Badal addressed Narendra Modi furiously earlier this week, the Delhi based Akali leaders who have used similar words for the NDA Government.

“Modi-led NDA Governmenthas the same mindset as the Congress on the issue of the 1984 anti-Sikh violence,” said Manjit Singh GK, president of the Delhi Shiromani Gurdwara Management Committee. Manjit Singh GK is a senior member of the Akali Dal, who has remained a strong ally of the Badals. He also backed the Akali and BJP alliance on various issues. Especially, GK supported BJP leaders over Sikh candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party in the recently contested MLA elections there.

GK has warned the Centre Government to take concrete steps to punish the culprits of 1984 massacres. ”If the Centre does not act fast in providing justice to the victims, we will have to re-think of our alliance. Nothing is more important for me than justice to the victims,” he added.

Interestingly, as the Sikh vote bank is shifting towards the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab ahead of the 2017 elections, the Akalis seem to be in the mood to take up Panthik issues.

  1. Ujjado Ujjado Model to prevent the Genocide -4

If we get localized to one city ,state ,Nation we run the risk of Genocide -4 .
We need to follow the model of Ujjado, Ujjado ,Ujjado as enunciated by our First teacher Guru Nanak and have a Global dispersion in every Village ,City, Nation ,Continent ,Planet ,Galaxies .

    • ‘If we get localized to one city ,state ,Nation we run the risk of Genocide’ Sounds to me that you are urging Sikhs to leave their Sikh homeland in order to save their lives. We cannot leave the Darbar Sahib or the Punjab because of the intense historical and religious connection between Sikhi and that soil anymore than the Jews (even forced form their homeland) could ever forget and forfeit about their Jerusalem and homeland. A people who give up their homeland give up part of their identity and lose their voice against persecution – look at the plight of the Kurd denied his homeland by Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Syria.

      • The increase in Sikh diaspora around the world is a great thing as it increases Sikh visibility and influence in the political world but Sikhs CAN NEVER FORSAKE their homeland in Punjab. They have a duty to protect their homeland of PUnjab as their forebears did before them for future generations of Sikhs.
