LUDHIANA, Punjab—In a statement shared after his court appearance, Bhai Paramjit Singh Bheora gave a strong message in support of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. He also appreciated efforts by the worldwide Sikhs in ensuring the safe return of Bhai Paramjit Singh Pamma to the UK.
“Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa’s sangarsh is the need of the hour today. All Sikhs of the Gurus need to stand firmly with Bapu,” appealed Bhai Bheora when he was presented at the Ludhiana court complex yesterday. He was brought here by the Chandigarh and Punjab Police under heavy security.
Bhai Paramjit Singh Bheora said that all Sikhs must support Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa so that Sikh political prisoners could be freed.
Bhai Paramjit Singh is undergoing trial in the Burail jail break case. He was presented in the court in a case that dates back to June 1995. Bhai Bheora was arrested in connection to assassination of ex-Chief Minister of Punjab Beant “Singh”. Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa has been on a hunger protest since January 16, 2015 to seek release of political prisoners who have completed their terms but have not been released.
