LUDHIANA, Punjab—Punjab Government is still undecided as to whether Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar and Bhai Gurdeep Singh Khera should be released.
Both men were transferred to Punjab recently to meet demand of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa, who is currently on a fast till death to protest prolonged detention of Sikh prisoners outside of their court sentences.
There was some movement within the Punjab Government to grant relief to both Prof. Bhullar and Bhai Khera, however, the Government has gone quiet in the past few weeks after having released other prisoners permanently and on parole.
Prof. Bhullar and Bhai Khera’s release will be a big breakthrough, as both have not been given parole for even a single since despite having spent over 15 years in confinement.
