    • As it’s the Badals and Majithias they lack courage but certainly should have convictions. Criminal convictions for all the crimes they have committed against the Sikhs. Also note you haven’t tried to dispute WHY they are trying to set it up so presume you are gnashing your teeth at having their dastardly scheme to undermine the word ‘Khalsa’ exposed?

      • The truth of what I am saying is capably demonstrated in another news story of the day where Rajdeep Sardesai in an Op/ED published in the Hindustan Times denotes that Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s slogan Raj Karega Khalsa is the slogan of ‘Khalistanis’. He goes on to write (and this is to millions of Indian readers both in print and on the internet remember) ‘Is, for example, the slogan of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement Jo Hindu hit kee baat karega vahi desh pe raj karega, which openly calls for a Hindu Rashtra, to be seen as violative of the law or not and does it spread enmity among communities? Is Raaj karega khalsa, the slogan of the Khalistanis, to be seen as seditious or not?’. This is an example where the word Khalsa can be demeaned and misappropriated so as to dilute its meaning and religious and historical connotation to the point where you create a new normal and then Sikhs who use the word Khalsa can be branded as anti-national ‘Khalistanis’ (and subject to extra judicial treatment). This is a clear warning to Sikhs to wake up to defend their identity lest it be re-defined and then criminalised by others. BY the way in Balwant Singh versus State of Punjab, the Supreme Court ruled in the negative – that Khalsa was not specifically a Khalistani slogan but that does not mean courts cannot change their positions in future when for example they are presented with contrasting views by so-called Sikhs themselves i.e the Badal/ Majithia version of ‘Khalsa’ University put against ‘Khalsa College’.

    • Yeah, and this way you can insidiously chip away at / devalue the brand reputation of the word ‘Khalsa’ so as to cultivate muddying doubt and misconceptions about what ‘Khalsa’ actually stands for. Nothing more than a deeply cynical exercise of misappropriation so as to both divide and neutralise Sikhs i.e. Majithia / Badal get to say in time as their university goes on that ‘Khalsa’ stands for this (ambiguous, airy fairy and even antithetical concepts dependent on political whim – rejection of Miri Piri, Panj Pyare etc) but the other lot who are using the Khalsa name (and standing up for the principles the word embodies) are orthodox, hardliners, radicals, extremists etc. Divide and conquer mentality and a long term ‘plant seeds of doubt’ programme from fifth column and very dangerous when you are talking about educating / misleading the youth who will be using these facilities. Otherwise why not just call it the Badal Majithia University and let people know straight away what it is they are signing up for? Amarinder is of course just raising the point for his own political gain but the point is still relevant.
