Meeting Of Sikh Intellectuals To Discuss Malicious Flouting of Sikh Code Of Conduct Held In Amritsar

SRMAMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—A special meeting of Sikh intellectuals and Sikh bodies was yesterday called by the Badal appointed Jathedar, Giani Gurbachan Singh, to deliberate upon emerging challenges to Sikh code of conduct and the alteration of Gurbani script by some mischievous elements.

Talking about the recent incident of the alteration of the Ardas and change in code of conduct of baptism by a UAE based Gurdwara, Giani Gurbachan Singh said that some mischievous elements are trying to bifurcate the Sikh community by creating controversy about Gurbani. He appealed to worldwide Sikh bodies to follow the traditional Sikh code of conduct implemented by Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

Meanwhile, Bhai Baldev Singh, of the Akhand Kirtani Jatha, has said that due to the absence of prominent Sikh bodies, the meeting couldn’t yield a positive outcome. He added that most Sikh bodies didn’t attend the meeting due to the lost credibility of Badal appointed Jathedars.

Chief Secretary Harcharan Singh, Giani Jaswant Singh, Bhai Waryam Singh, Principal Amarjit Singh, Baba Surjit Singh Patiala, Nihang Jassa Singh, Bhai Harsimran Singh Anandpur Sahib, Giani Parvinderpal Singh Buttar, Bhai Bohad Singh, Bhai Kular Singh etc. were present at this event.

  1. Sunny Leone is in Porn Business due to the 1984 Genocide.
Sikh is a open and Liberal Faith .
Any one can Join it and leave it at free will.
There is no definition of a Sikh or Apostate given in Guru Granth Sahib .
Sikhism is a way of life and not a CODE.

    • Sunny Leone is NOT in porn business due to 1984 genocide. She had plenty of opportunities and life choices and chose to be involved in sex industry. If it were otherwise then the porn industry would be full of victims from 1984 genocide. Sikhism is a world recognised religion and its beliefs were codified by Guru Gobind ISngh both in his final compilation (and conferring of eternal religious Guruship) of Guru Granth Sahib and his creation of the Khalsa and the baptism in 1699 which defines who is a SIkh or not. Have a good look at why he felt it so necessary to establish unique Sikh identity. An apostate is not someone who leaves the religion but continues to espouse that he is an adherent whilst rejecting the tenets of the faith where a heretic starts to replace tenets of the faith with antithetical beliefs.

    • It really is quite important that I pin down the lie you are trying to project on Sikhism when you talk of Sikhism’s liberalism and openness. These two concepts are specifically related to Sikhism’s tolerance of other religious faiths in that we are taught a live-and-let live rather than proselytizing attitude. This doe NOT mean that we accept as ‘gospel’ what other religions are teaching but rather that we respect other people’s right to believe in those things. This is because of the historical experience Sikhs went through when they were themselves persecuted and then hunted and down killed for financial gain and in the name of extremist Islam (the prevailing religion of the Moghul Empire during the reign of butchers like Shah Jahan, Jahangir and Auregzeb). I think you are deliberately trying to invoke this liberal attitude for an altogether more pernicious agenda which is to actually dilute the Gurmat of Sikhism with this no notion that there is supposedly no definition of a Sikh (which in turn of course means that Sikhism itself becomes open to ‘interpretation’). Fortunately the Sikhs have baptism set down by Guru Gobind Singh himself in 1699 (so luckily for us not lost in the depths of time like other religions) wherein the ethics, beliefs and very physical identity of what it is to be a Sikh is clearly laid down for subsequent adherents to follow. This means that Sikhism can NOT be a laissez-faire, pick-and-mix buffet of religiosity or airy-fairy nebulous spirituality dependent on the personal tastes of people who wish to call themselves Sikhs. Such people – and I would count you as one if I did not know that you are actually a RSS mouthpiece if not an outright Lord Haw Haw – have a ‘do as thou wilt’ theosophy where spiritual beliefs and ethics change with the wind (read political climate, morays of the day et al) and personal peccadilloes (an individual feels a need for the cloak of religiosity to mask his vices and/or actually wants to make them permissable). You CANNOT call yourself a Sikh if you reject the authority of the Khalsa, Panj Pyare, Miri Piri, the monotheistic Oneness of God and equality of all mankind but you can still claim to have a sense of the spiritual as that is still possible in other religions.

  2. You are a

    1) RSS obsessed Sikh because of your Indian Roots where Sikhism rose and your name the “SINGH” and the Gurus Names which are derived from Indian History. You may be able to turn a blind eye or feign ignorance to the World before Sikhs arrived .But there was a world before the Sikhs from Hinduism to Islam to Christianity to Buddhism to Jainism to Roman Gods.

    2) Speak contemptuously about people who worship differently from the classical way .This is a SIN as per Sikhs ethos

    3) Your opinion is not the absolute Truth and not every Sikh thinks like your self.

    4) Suffer from a SUPERIORITY COMPLEX

    5) Sunny Leone has done one thing great that she has trivialized the Rape that the 1984 Genociders indulged in to destroy Sikh Pride. There is nothing special about a Female sexuality. Any woman can be made into a Porn star by Genocide’s and wars. Remember in Indian history the fate of Draupadi in Maha Bharat. It is the test of a real man who will not indulge in Sexual objectification of a woman. She is after all our Girl .

    • 1) Singh was a title given to us by Guru Gobind Singh. Not sure what point you’re trying to make that the Gurus were using indigenous language other than highlighting that this is why the RSS cannot brand Sikhism as being a foreign religion in the same way it decries Islam and Christianity.
      2) Worship differently from the ‘classical’ way? We all know what you mean by this term – you want to dispose of Khalsa, Panj Pyare, Miri Piri and even Guru Granth Sahib Himself (by permitting sacrilege both physically and metaphysically by the incorporation of antithetical texts such as your Ramayana and Mahabharat). If you don’t follow the tenets of a faith you are not an adherent of that faith. Look up in the dictionary the definition of heresy and apostasy. I’ve told you a dozen times that Sikhism is NOT a pot pourri pick and mix religion where you get to choose what bits of religiosity you personally like or dislike depending on your own peccadilloes and vices (which you don’t want to be pointed out as vices) . You can’t be a bit of a SIkh anymore than you can a bit pregnant – you are either pregnant or not pregnant, you are either a subscriber to Sikh values and ethos or you are not. Ironically this notion of a faint conviction is very much a western sensibility found prominently in the Church of England. 3) I am a Sikh and I follow the tenets and ethos of my religious faith. I am not prepared to stand by and do nothing whilst people like you try to disparage and denigrate it. That is the duty of a Sikh. Always has been. 4) How can I not suffer from superiority complex when I up against your poor grasp of historical facts, religious knowledge and belief in flying monkey kings and demons et al. 5) ‘Sunny Leone has done one great that she has trivialized the rape that the 1984 genociders indulged in to destroy Sikh Pride’. She trivialised it? How the hell can that be a good thing?! ‘Any woman can be made into a porn star by genocide’?! That is the dirty base thinking that sets you apart from a SIkh. None of the SIkh woman and girls who were raped (repeatedly and gang raped also) became porn stars because of the rape atrocities committed on them! They were all Kaurs – Princesses not porn stars! Their pain is felt today by every single Sikh. It fills us with anger and bitterness over the injustice they suffered and we have not forgotten or as you repeatedly exhort on this website ‘gotten over it’. It is not a test of real man to choose not to commit rape – the desire to commit rape is created by not thinking of that woman or that girl as being an equal and worthy human being, such thinking is at the core of the caste system which your RSS is committed to preserving .

  3. You are like
    1) Believer of Glory of past.
    2) Indifference or even contempt for Present day Sikhs who are learning to resurrect from Genocides like 1984.
    3) Unable to see the world beyond the Mughal history,British history and RSS history. There existed a world before Sikhs came on planet Earth.
    4) Who lives in history rather than create history.
    5) RSS obsessive guy.
6)Failure to appreciate the theory of evolution.
    7) Have contempt of Science

    • Sikhs are here now (yes proudly wearing their dastaars) because of the glories of their forefathers, ‘Harinder’. I have told you before resurrection is only possible when you have actually died. The Sikh nation never died – loha became steel in the fire. I have contempt for present day so-called ‘Sikhs’ who wish to call themselves Sikhs (in order to associate themselves with the glory of Sikh martial achievement) but not actually commit themselves to the tenets of the faith just some pick and mix nebulous religiosity which would allow them to watch your Sunny Leone without feeling shame. Sikh history can only be seen through Mughal Raj, British Raj, Khalsa Raj and RSS Hinduvta Raj history as those periods are the only ones that Sikh history has actually lived through and been most critical in shaping. I am not obsessed with the RSS I just despise them and all that they stand for and know that you are a mouthpiece for them trolling a Sikh website so take every opportunity to alert other Sikh readers of your not so hidden agenda – after all it’s a civic duty to cry out to the unsuspecting that a venomous snake is underfoot.
And you are seriously accusing me of 6) having a failure of appreciating evolution and 7) contempt of science (which includes archaeology, anatomy, physiology etc) when you believe in the existence of flying, talking monkey kings as well as elephant headed- Gods, demons and multi-limbed Goddesses of the Ramayana and Mahabharat?! I’d call you a hypocrite but your ignorance easily outstrips your lack of moral values. I suppose that’s what attracted you to the RSS in the first place.

  4. Debate of strictly internal issues gives all incumbents some ill-deserved breathing space. That is probably why such discourse was supposed to be halted until relevant institutions were properly reconstituted?

    • RSS Harinder using the guise of a Sikh name to misrepresent Sikh doctrine and history when he has openly admitted to being a proud RSS supporter. To my fellow SIkhs be aware his posts are cynically designed to deceive Sikhs who are not aware of the evidence of the case and indeed even their own history and religious tenets. There is no choice but to robustly correct his misrepresentation and outright lies because if you don’t do that nipping in the bud then the pernicious lie eventually becomes the ‘received wisdom’ which creates a new normal such as his entirely heretical attempt to sneak the Ramayana and Mahabharat into Sikh scripture. RSS Harinder is repeatedly pressing for the acceptance amongst Sikhs that they ‘deserved’ Operation Bluestar and pogroms (because how dare they stand up to the State even if it was engaged in an unconstitutional political campaign to undermine the Sikh nation) and the notion Sikhs no longer have to pay attention to Sikh doctrine because we are living in ‘modern times’. For him this means we can repudiate elements of Sikh ethos given to us by the Gurus themselves within their own lifetimes – the concept of Miri Piri, the baptism of Khalsa et al. He wants to decouple the 5Ks and the Dastaar from the very identity of a Sikh so that those who remain in the Khalsa Panth (actually having the temerity to be baptised in the faith instead of just paying lip service and using religiosity as a cloak of respectability like the Badals and SGPC) can be singled out and labelled as ‘orthodox’, ‘radical’, ‘militant’, ‘extremist’ and finally terrorist so that they can be done away with out in the open instead of the clandestine back of the truck method used in the 80s and 90s. He does not want you to stand up for the sanctity of Sikh religious values or historical probity (his RSS are actively engaged in rewriting history textbooks in schools in India), as plenty of fair-weather Sikhs have been cowed which has given encouragement to the RSS and his Hinduvta mafia to continue their insidious campaign to infiltrate and undermine Sikh institutions. Harinder (not his real name) holds up the likes of a porn star, Sunny Leone, as being an example of the modern Sikh woman. The SGPC, Badals, BJP and other political organisations that can and do cause damage to Sikh interests need to be subjected to close scrutiny and lampooning. If others did the same instead of adopting Harinder’s Uriah Heep slavish deference these organisations would be more receptive to changing their ways instead of having them reinforced by public apathy and fear. RSS Harinder is engaged in blatant attempts to blacken the name of Sikhi, rewriting / whitewashing historical facts and supporting hypocrites posing as Sikh leaders (the likes of Badal and Makkar) in his paid propagandist posts.

    • As far as you and your RSS reprobates are concerned the Sikh is the Teacher and you are the backwards child that needs to adopt the chicken position (after all comes naturally to you after all) until you give your bad ways – murga bun!
