A team of Higher Educational Authorities of Punjab led by Secretary Sri Anurag Verma has inspected the campus of Khalsa College to provide it status of a Private University and the report will be presented to the Punjab government within a week. The Punjab government might introduce a bill in the assembly to grant status of a private University to the Khalsa College.
It is noteworthy that the management of Khalsa College (dominated by the Majithia family) had earlier also tried to convert Khalsa College into a private University in 2011. But the outraged demonstrations from the donors, who donated land for Khalsa College, had forced the management of Khalsa College to give up.
Similar efforts by the SGPC are also been made to convert Guru Ram Dass Medical College of Amritsar into a Private Medical University. With the conversion of Medical College into a Private Medical University, the SGPC President will acquire administering powers.
SGPC should not act Timidly and Sluggishly. They need to open up along with Punjab Government
1) Medical Colleges in each and every district and City of Punjab.
2) Engineering Colleges like IIT /REC in each district and City of Punjab.
3) IT parks in each district and City of Punjab.
4) IISC like institutes in each district and City of Punjab.
5 ) NASA like institutes .
They can learn from USA and UK what else to open up
This scandal only further goes to show that the SGPC has been thoroughly infiltrated and compromised as a trustworthy representative body of the Sikhs. Fortunately it is only a gangrenous limb rather than vital organ so can and must be excised to protect the body of the Panth. If you insist upon trying to save it than the top three tiers of its committee and their appointees must be removed and Darbar Sahib and Ardas sevadar Bhai Balbir Singh appointed to select their successors in consultation with the Sarbat Khalsa approved Panj Pyare. There is no other way as you cannot give a stronger message to Hinduvta intriguers intent upon abusing Khalsa and Sikhism then saying whenever we find your apostate operating collaborators we will simply dismantle their stations of power and render them useless to you as the Sikh Panth and its Sangat are sovereign to any would be priesthood. When a house is infected with bugs you have to delouse it.
Shameless land grab exercise and underhand way of acquiring the word ‘Khalsa’ with which they can then misrepresent themselves and their future practises (discriminatory admission policies against students like Dalits for example as well as introducing RSS favoured curriculum and textbooks as a ‘private’ university) with the ultimate intention of sullying ‘Khalsa’ as both a word and a concept. This must NOT be allowed to happen as it will line the pockets of men bearing ill-will to Sikhism and provide them with the means to indoctrinate anti-Sikh sentiments into students under the cover of the respectibility that ‘Khalsa’ affords them.
