Panj Pyare Honored by Sant Samaj And Sikhs in Moga

Panj Piare:dateline:The Panj Pyare of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib, who were suspended by SGPC executives on January 1, were yesterday honoured by Sant Samaj in a religious function held in the Moga constituency. Former Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh, Giani Kewal Singh and Prof. Manjit Singh were also present at thefunction.

Addressing Sikh devotees, Bhai Satnam Singh Khanda (one of the five) said that their decree appealing to Sikh masses to Government sponsored disgraced Takht Jathedars have seenan overwhelming response. He added that although the SGPC executives tried to challenge the highest institution of the Panj Pyare by suspending their employment services, the social boycott of Badal appointed Takht Jathedars by Sikh devotees has shownthat Sikhs are still faithfulto the highest institution of Panj Pyare.

Giani Balwant Singh Nandgarh stated that he supportsthe decree issued by the Panj Pyare. He claimed that the termination of employment services of the Panj Pyare by SGPC executives was politically motivated.

Demanding the neutralization of politics on religious affairs of Sikhs, Jathedar Nandgarh appealed toSikh bodies to unite on a common platform.
