Theme for the Week: This weeks selection throws some light on obstacles to peace and how we can overcome them with the help of Gurbani and by joining the company of wise people who have imbibed divinity in their lives. In this way we can achieve a balance in life between our needs and wants. Gurbani also teaches us how to visualize and bring to reality a positive and happy life through remembrance of the Divine, at all times, who resides in every heart. ????? (sukheeaa) |

Message: We have many delusions. We believe that only worldly pleasure and abundance of wealth can bring happiness. Hence we carry on craving and chasing after worldly comforts. We also feel that other people are our source of happiness. Hence we depend upon them and expect them to bestow happiness on us. However, to find true happiness and peace of mind, Gurbani states that we need to overcome all such delusions. How? Seek only the support of the Almighty. Realise His divine presence in your life. Work hard and strive to improve your attitude towards life – to build better relationships and a better future. Learn to be happy with what you do, and what you have at present. Learn to enjoy the simpler pleasures in life and accept what the Lord gives you. The secret of happiness, you see, is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less. ? Socrates Etymology: From Sanskrit sukhin (possessing or causing happiness) and sukhee (one who loves pleasure), from sukh (pleasant, easy, comfort, happiness) ? Pali sukh (pleasant) ? Prakrit sukkh (happiness). |
