As per the information available from internal sources, Giani Gurbachan Singh remained confined within his official residence in Amritsar Sahib. Similarly, the other two illegitimate jathedars, Giani Gurmukh Singh and Giani Mall Singh also didnt cross the boundaries of Talwandi Sabo and Sri Anandpur Sahib respectively due to fear.
SGPC President Avtar Singh Makkar also didnt attend the celebrations of 350th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji at Patna Sahib. It is notable that Makkar is also President of Management Board of Takht Sri Patna Sahib which was specially constituted to chalk out arrangements for 350th birth anniversary functions.
It may be recalled here that since the grant of an unrequested pardon to Gurmeet Ram Rahim forblasphemy charges, the Badal appointed Jathedars had been facing sharp criticism bySikh masses. Later, the call given by the Panj Pyare to Sikh masses for a social boycott of theJathedars had led topublic appearances to become scarce. Only a few weeks agoat Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, Makkar and Giani Gurbachan Singh were not allowed to address the Sikh sangat at a gathering there.
Hello
Although sangat may have boycotted the jathedars – a number of TV channels regularly air their comments and speeches – on Friday 2 UK based Sikh channels aired 6 min interview with Gurbhachan Singh wrt gurpurb.
So are the Sikh TV channels exempt from the boycott ?? despite the fact they are controlled by Sikhs
similarly print media regularly report their speeches
