Sarbat Khalsa-2015 Organizer Bhai Mohkam Singh Released in Sedition Case

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Acting on the petition filed Advocate Maninderpal Singh Sekhon, the Punjab & Haryana High Court today granted bail to Bhai Mohkam Singh (President, United Akali Dal) in sedition charges.  It is noteworthy here that Bhai Mohkam Singh was indicted in sedition charges along with other leaders for holding ‘Sarbat Khalsa-2015’ at village Chabba on November 10.  Bhai Mohkam Singh had appealed in the High Court that Punjab government had wrongly indicting him in sedition charges.

Sikh24 learned from Advocate Sekhon that the High Court took strict notice of the registration of FIR against organizers of ‘Sarbat Khalsa-2015’ and made rough comment on the Police cops responsible for filing FIR under political pressure.

With bail of Bhai Mohkam Singh, the pathway for release of other organizers of ‘Sarbat Khalsa’ has been paved. United Akali Dal’s General Secretary Bhai Gurdeep Singh Bathinda is likely to get bail on Monday. Similarly, the other organizers will also get bail in next week.

It is worth mentioning here that name of Bhai Papalpreet Singh (General Secretary, Sikh Youth Front) was specially highlighted in the FIR by levelling false allegations. He was targeted by the government due to his extraordinary role in promoting ‘Sarbat Khalsa-2015’.
