:dateline:Following criticism by rebel SGPC leaders, political parties, prominent religious figures, theHaryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has also condemned the incident as “unfortunate”. The HSGPC has demanded dissolution of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee for challenging the highest institute of the Sikhs.

Talking with Sikh24, Vice-President of HSGPC Sardar Didar Singh Nalwi said that SGPCs officials were working under the political pressure of the Badals. He added that Makkar and severalSGPC executives have bent all rules tochallengethe supremacy of temporal posts of the Sikhs. He said that by challenging the highly respectable institution of Panj Piare, the current SGPC executives havemade it evident that they are operating Sikh religion as their franchise.

Nalwi sought immediate resignation of SGPC President Avtar Makkarfor hurting Sikh sentiments. He said that even Guru Gobind Singh Ji followedthe orders issued by Panj Piares, but the Makkar led SGPC executives have termed the Panj Piares as just the employeesof the SGPC.

Meanwhile, the Sikh masses across Punjab have started staging protests against the sacking of Panj Piares by the SGPC executives. A sit-in-protest was staged in Chamkaur Sahib in the vicinity of Gurdwara Katalgarh Sahib by local Sikh activists. One of the protesters Bhai Gurmail Singh Khalsa said that the SGPC personnel were working under political pressure.
